Dash's Writing Assignment

Today Dash had a parent writing day, where parents could go in and listen to their child read what they are thankful for. I have been a little busy with all the recent changes for our last minute Thanksgiving guests. The numbers keep increasing and I KEEP HOPING AND PRAYING that I will have 6 more guests and even a fury friend join us!(our doors are always open). I half decided that I would not go and just skip it. I am so grateful that I did not miss this opportunity to go. Dash didnt tell me that he wrote about me. If I had chosen not to go. Dash would have been 1 out of 4 children who's parents were not there. It broke my heart! My heart has been so tender lately towards little children. I was so shocked when Dash began reading about ME!! It was so sweet and he talked about how much he loves me! Anyhoo, There were 3 other children who's parents were not there and this one girl would not read her story until her mom got there, her mom never showed and she just cried and cried and was so upset and unconsolable. It broke my heart and many of the parents who were there as well. This other boy tried to play real tough and strong until his teacher made him get up and he broke down. I hate that! He wanted his mom to hear how special his dog was to him. I told him I would take his pictures and send them to him mom email. He was ok with that, but not happy! He was so sad too. I can't believe that I even considered not going to hear my baby boys words. Had it been the first two children I would have been there early and with bells on my feet. Have I worn myself out so thinly when the older two were their age that I am so burned out?? Anyway, we had a FABULOUS day and snacks were brought in and the children did so well on their writing assignments.
