PAY RAISE!!

Woohoo! I got a pay raise. Hey a raise is a raise. I was making $9.50 and through recent events that I should journal but have not journaled, I went into the administration office the other day to question my pay scale. I had talked to a few other ramp agents that started with me and around the same time as I did. I found that they were making a quarter to 50cents more than I. I have always been a good agent and employee and have only lost half a percent on my evaluations for a raise. That is 1/2 percent out of 6% so I was still getting a full 5.5%. Anyway, I questioned this. I should have questioned it earlier but I have my check automatically deposited and I never check to see if they are paying me for my correct hours. I just take it for granted. Well, from $9.50 I am now making $10.25
and that pay is retroactive. Yeah! I mean that is a .75 cent raise and makes a big difference. It is a lot easier to put up with half that mess making over $10 an hour. I know that isnt a huge amount of money and is pretty insignificant next to Bill's salary but IT'S my CONTRIBUTION and it is STILL something. I also have earned myself 8 vacation days!!! WOOHOO! I burned a vacation day already, to watch Sweetheart play a soccer game. It was so worth it to me! I hate having to miss any part of their high moments and have decided that I won't. I will either find someone to work my days, take a vacation day for it, or call in sick. I love that I can take pictures at my leisure or when I need to make a little extra money on top of the airline job. The airlines is clearly just a job! I contemplate quitting all the time but there is something very addictive about it. I tend to have ocd and addictive habits. I refuse to quit anything until I have conquered it or I am bored with it. The beauty about photography is it is a true love and hobby and the BEST part about that is if I choose to make money with it, I can. So, I shoot for the pure love of it and making a little extra from it is just icing on the cake! I love that! I have taken 3 sessions and I have earned enough money to purchase studio lights and backdrop equipment. I have the opportunity and now I dont know if that is what I want to do. There are other things that could take priority.
