It seems like another business opportunity has lent itself our way. Mr. Incredible works for one of the top four accounting firms, Ernst & Young. Year after year head hunters and business opportunities come along to move from public accounting to private. Although, the money has been tempting the long term goals were never present to pursue the inquiry any farther. Mr. Incredible is a high level senior manager. The next step in the firm is partner. He could be made partner this coming year or indefinitely. Perhaps, within 5yrs. (Might as well be eternity) However, as our children have grown and our goals have changed it becomes less about money and what title you hold and more about how much time can we spend as a family, and do we have the necessities, and can we attend and fulfill our church callings. Mr. Incredible is able to do so much at home with our children. He helps coach the high school football team. He is at the field by 3pm and doesn't come home until after 6. Then he is able to help coach Dash's soccer team, which begins at 6pm and finishes around 7:30. On Thursday nights, he then goes back to the football fields to paint the field if we have home games and doesn't arrive back home until 10:30 or so. Saturday is consumed with running children to games and Sunday he has an early coaches meeting and then we have church until 4pm. Balance. Can there ever be true balance? A few weeks ago Mr. Incredible was presented with an opportunity to be partner in a private firm. Actually, the title is not partner but essentially it is the same level. They don't call themselves partners. I flicked it off like it was no big deal, just another run of the mill offer. Mr. Incredible had a few meetings to talk things out and discuss goals and expectations of both sides. The first interview went well for both sides. He came home discussed everything with the family and we decided it would be good to pursue this matter to the next level. So, this is the farthest that we have ever taken an inquiry to. I wonder if they come back and say YES! what will we do then? Scared? Yes, I am scared of the unknown. I like the familiar. I am of the mentality why rock the boat. Everything is fine and if it takes a few years to be partner, so what?
