I wish I had better pictures but the batteries in BOTH cameras were low!
HIP HIP HOORAY!! It started with some flurries about 11:45 last night. Warrior got out of bed and ran down stairs to play outside in it. He excitedly exclaimed, "It's sticking". I was like, "Great son, now go to bed." I was awoken this morning by shrills of laughter and excitement and jumping and bouncing on my bed to, brace yourself, the dreaded words of "SCHOOL IS CANCELLED"!

I love it when school is cancelled. I feel like I have stolen a moment away from time or life to have one more unplanned day with my children. When life gets too crazy and I feel unconnected with them I will stop life and keep them home from school. I love that and they love it too. We will just hang out with each other. Sometimes do absolutely nothing but cuddle in bed and watch videos all afternoon and then go for a walk at a park and take time and recognize how God has painted the world with his beautiful art. We recognize the beauty in the simple things. Other times we have had a birthday celebration. Complete with cake and decorations and presents. Just a birthday party for each of us. It didn't have to be any body's birthday just an excuse to celebrate! (probably my excuse to have cake) As the children get older they seem to WANT to go to school and BE in school. I seem to be replaced with a "social life" by the older two. The younger two are still on board with whatever mommy has in store for them.
Dad has all of the children with him this morning. They are fixing a flat in Warrior's tire. It is cold this morning. I think I hear the hot chocolate machine beckoning all of our names. Sadly, the snow should be melted by tomorrow with expectant temperatures in the mid 50's.

I am the hot chocolate maker in my house. We just might get some more snow tomorrow. Yeah! I love snow days!!! I still look at the list of school closing and my kids aren't even in school yet. But it does mean that Aaron might stay home and play with us for the day.
