Graduation Party

Before the festivities the yard had to be mowed

The flower beds watered and weeded

And brought back to PERFECTION!

There was so much food there. WE ate ourselves silly. My parents had planned for 150 to attend. We probably had that many plus who came throughout the day. Thunder showers were in the forecast but that didn't stop the party. A large tent was rented and tables and chairs. K's favorite food is steak. My parents bought enough steak for 150 people. My bil, grilled all of the steaks to order. We did not want any waste. A pig was also brought in, it was smoked. We had chicken wings, steak burgers and hot dogs, chicken tortellini and a huge cake ordered. Volleyball, swimming and dancing. K racked in the graduation cards and it will help with his college tuition and expenses. I'm considering moving back for Warrior's senior year. LOL!

check that cake out!

How much FUN! Yeah, I should move up there before my kids graduate. We haven't even started saving for college yet. LG always says that he will start saving for their college just as soon as his own college is paid for.

I can't believe that you have a brother almost the same age as your son! I guess that's ok since your mom looks like she could be your age.

What a party! I bet your mom and dad spent more on food than your brother got in gifts...it's a good thing that all the guests bring come cash!

The food looks awesome...I just want you to know that I noticed that the pig was cooked like it was in the South and not in the ground like a Polynesian cooked it. ;)

Alice, you are so RIGHT! The pig was cooked in a smoker. It was decent but definitely not what we were expecting. I didn't want to blog that it was a disappointment. He is my adoptive brother, who is actually my second cuz. They adopted him when he was 10. His mother could no longer take care of him. She loved him but they didn't eat very good and did not have a home and were living on the streets. The state took him away from her. But, he never knew he was not taken care of. Life was ok, living moment to moment and bridge to bridge. It's sad. His mother truly loved him and took care of him emotionally just couldn't do it physically. He didn't attend school much either.
As far as money goes, he recieved about 2500. I believe I recieved close to 5k when I graduated, in money and gifts.

I know where I am sending Mattie when she graduates. To your house. That is just the best celebration I have ever seen. You really know how to kick it up and do it right.

Great job guys. And I want to be that great at 91 too. Awesome.
