I'm Baaack

We have been in NY for a little over a week. My youngest brother just graduated from High School and we went to celebrate with him. Our flight out of Charlotte was delayed thanks to those wonderful summer storms that roll in this time of year. We had a wonderful time visiting my parents, brother, sister and their families and all of my extended relatives as well.
Our flight out of Charlotte kept getting pushed back due to the weather. We were suppose to arrive into Albany, NY at 11:00pm. My dad has a high council meeting in Albany and it would last until 9pm. Instead, of driving the 50 miles back to their house he was going to stay in the area. OUR flight did not end up leaving Charlotte until 11:55 and we arrived into the Albany airport after 1am. Needless to say, it was a very long wait for my dad. I feel so bad about that. We fly non rev so we are never guaranteed a sure seat until the very end of the boarding process.
All 6 of us got on the flight without a hitch. We just needed the weather to co-operate with us. We played many card games while waiting for the weather to clear up. It was really fun.

I didn't know that you were from NY. Even though I am California born and raised people always think I am a Yankee. I think I picked up a little accent from my NY native best friend in HS.

I am glad to see that you are smart enough NOT to post about your vacation until your return...so many rookie bloggers announce to the whole net that they aren't home.

I am sure you all had a blast. It is my dream to visit New York someday.

And, I am so impressed that your dad was still awake when you all arrived.:)

NY is a dream of my daughters. How fun for your family. That was so nice of you to attend that. And your poor father, that was a bummer. What games did you play? Just curious. I love playing games and cards. My grandfather taught me to love games.

Glad you had a fun time. Missed your posts. I was wondering what Miss Mother Goose was up too. Now I know. Take care and have a great week.

Well, I guess paying over $4 a gallon played a major factor. He slept in the car outside the airport and then when we called and told him we landed he drove into the arrival section of the airport. He works such long hours and then put his church calling. He didn't mind. He's a great guy.

Ahhh...I have NY issues. But my obsession borders mainly in Manhattan (I MEANT to live there for one year and work in a bookstore or something before I settled down and had kids and wouldn't you KNOW it I never got around to it)...so my heart kind of panged when I read you just got back...

And inflatables = jumpy things. Is that better? Make sense? Why aren't you on my blogroll? Fixing that.

Jan, I just wrote a detailed explanation of the games and POOF! blogerville ate it! We play a game. Each player has to choose an animal sound and motion. The jokers are removed from the deck and the entire deck of cards are dealt. Each player flips a card at the same time. If there is a matching card then those players have to be the first to call out the other person's animal sound and sign. Only those players who have a match can play. If there are multiple matches like 3 players have a matching the card, the first to call out the sound of both players wins. The player then gets to gather all cards that are in the pile in front of the player and adds it to the his deck. The object of the game is to get the most cards. If you are out of cards you are eliminated. This is really funny with a lot of players and embarrassing in the middle of the airport.

We play another game called golf. It is fun for my lil guy. He feels like he is playing with the big boys when he plays this game.

Now, is probably a good time to fly. Since less people are flying because of the increase fair prices. We did not have any problems at all, flying the 6 of us.
