DASH IS EIGHT

Eight years ago Dash was born. He weighed 2 pounds. 10 oz. and was 16 inches long. He was born 13 1/2 weeks early. We had a very tumultuous first 2 years but after that you have never looked back. You are such a special sweet boy and I am so grateful that you fought so hard to stay here with us. We are blessed to have you.
Your Rocky start

Your Beautiful Beginning...

You were baptized this week as well. You had family come in and visit and your other relatives wanted so badly to share your special day with you, but their grandpa was sick. You had a beautiful baptism. It is always beautiful when all of your loved ones can surround you and participate in your special day.
Your Eternal Family

Both of your sisters gave talks, Beauty spoke on Baptism. She is truly gifted. She did a wonderful job and Sweetheart spoke on the Holy Ghost. She accepted the challenge and she did so well. She was so nervous but I am proud of them both. Warrior baptized you. He was nervous as well but pulled it off without a hitch. What flashed before my eyes was a glimpse of eternity. Each of my children have entered into the waters of baptism and have made their first covenants with the Lord. In both talks the girls mentioned that they were so glad that we could be an eternal family and how proud they were of you that you too, made the choice to be baptized.
No stronger bonds than the ties of family

Dash, there is no doubt that you can evoke and incite my deepest emotions from pure exhilaration to pure frustration. I believe that is what makes me love you so much. After Warrior performed the baptismal prayer and ordinance. He put you under the water and you came up and you looked like a brand new baby. Your eyes were so wide and alert. It was almost funny. I realized you did not plug your nose either. After they drew the curtains. WE could hear some splashing going on.
Our Bishop's wife laughed and said, "It sounds like he is swimming".
I thought, "surely not, that is just Warrior getting out. He is big so it is all the water sloshing around."
Power in the Priesthood

Warrior said as he was pulling the plug to drain the water. You had turned around to walk out and decided to DUNK yourself one more time. I can just visualize you walking out and then squatting underwater again. BUT, did it stop there?? OH NO!!! No, my dear Dash. You made it to the other side of the stairs and as Warrior turned around you dove out into the water. You went swimming. The look on Warrior's face had to be priceless. You said Warrior, grabbed your arm underwater and pulled you out. Warrior said, he was gritting through his teeth, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" But, secretly, he was laughing inside. Warrior, Beauty and Sweetheart both said they wished they had savored the water moment just a little longer. It's that pure innocense and light heartedness that you have. You said the water felt so good and you felt good that you just wanted to be dunked again. I can not keep up with the you. I truly just stand back in awe and shake my head.
True love...

Sister Sherwood from the primary presidency welcomed you as a new member and she shared a story. Every Sunday the presidency always asks if there are any visitors? and every Sunday Dash raises his hand. She told him that he is a true and official member of the church. I had no idea he was doing these things in primary! Again, I just have to shake my head and smile. You are so different from your siblings. You dance to your own beat.

Another funny that Warrior shared with us. He shared that while he was dunking you, YOU never closed your eyes! This makes me laugh so hard. He said, he put you under, you didn't plug your nose and then you popped your eyes open and was just staring at him! All the way up until you were out. Dash, I look forward with great anticipation the many wonderful memories you bring into our lives. WE love you so very much and are so proud of you. We are so thankful for all of our family that made the trip down for your special day.

Eight things about Dash.
1. He loves oreos.
2. He loves baseball and the Yankees
3. He is brilliant.
4. He is a fierce competitor. He hates to lose.
5. He is sensitive
6. He will probably be voted class clown and class genius.
7. He is quick tempered
8. He is so loving.

Now that was a sweet tribute!

How amazing that he was so small and now look at him. I love how involved your whole family is in the baptism. I am sure he will remember it forever.

Oh gosh. This post made me cry. We all prayed so hard for this sweetest spirit to not leave this earth too early. We too are so blessed to have his you in our lives. A. has a video of you on his phone that we play over and over just to hear your crazy laugh.
What a sweet boy you are growing up to be-Uncle Steve and I are so proud of your example and fun loving personality. We wanted to be a part of this special day so much and hated to miss it especially Andrew. He was so sad. We love you sweet boy! Happy Birthday and congratulations on your baptism.

Happy Birthday Mr. Dash. Oh you made my day with your sloshing around after the baptism. I hope that you always have that sense of joy. That's how I saw it. You were just so happy.

Have the best 8th year okay. I know that you made the wisest decision this year to be baptized. Stay close to your family because they are such good and solid examples to you. I am so very proud of you.

Swim on and on Dash. Keep making your splash Dash.

I typed up this comment to your comment from my blog and it told me that blogger is down.. ugh. That was a few hours ago, so we'll try it again.

You would so not stick out like a sore thumb, you would just be the life of the party like you are! When you come out here next, I want to plan a girls night, I want all of my friends to meet my cool friend, then they'll know how really cool I am.. hehehe. Yes, you definitely would have laughed so hard at Nat's BD unleashed.. it was great! Also, have I told you lately how amazing you look? You do! All of the pictures of you lately, you look so beautiful! You going to be around tonight. I need my Mothergoose fill I think.

That was sweet. I remember G. telling me about him and his struggles as a newborn. That is awesome his brother was able to baptize him. That must have been an awesome sight for you as a mom to have both your sons worthy to be dressed in white in the font.

Happy Bday Dash! What a beautiful family you have.

The notebooks I made...I cut the background paper, glued it on, and then embellished. The popsicle was lots of fun to make.

Crap! I didn't call you last night. Sorry. I'll try earlier tonight, since you worked so freaking early this morning. You do need to fly somewhere, and yes to UT, what are you saying you aren't thin enough, what the crap was that? You look amazing my friend. LOL, that was a freaking book you wrote. hahaha. We have the same syndrome. You would die if you saw my house though. It makes me so GRUMPY! I'll get back to normal, well, I think I'll find a happy medium.

Oh my goodness...how did you get so many comments overnight?

Tell me your secret...you know i live for comments.

I have been recovering from vacation so forgive my tardiness on 19 posts, but with all the comments you are getting I am sure you forgot about little old me.

I had to turn the music off. One it makes my computer run too slow, but two, between that and this sweet post, I was bawling my eyes out. I just love thinking of your eternal family.

And, that Dash is such a great kid. I think I would like to go back in time to my baptism and take one more jump...there are joys in having your older brother baptize you.
