FAMILY gives you wings

A family gives you wings when you have forgotten how to fly. Perhaps the road gets too long, you've lost your way or you have just given up.
I wanted to post this because when things were so hard it was family that held us together. Not just my own immediate glorious family but the family support of our extended family.
I love my grandmother, I call her almost daily. I love my parents and my siblings and their children. It feels good to go home. My parents have helped us many times in so many ways. Aunts and uncles on both my side and Mr. Incredible's side have been so gracious and helpful.

My husband's family have become such a source and strength to us. I know my mother in law has been the resounding ear for my husband. WE didn't speak but knowing she was there for him and for our family has been a great help. I love going to the Solomon Reunions because they are rooted in the gospel. They have stories and a family history of how the gospel has blessed their lives and the Testimony Sunday that we have is amazing. It's my most favorite part of the reunion, besides eating.

My brother in law and his family have been a source of hope and relief to countless days of just hanging on. It is good getting together. I know the strength not only lies in family but that their family is grounded in the gospel of Jesus Christ. That they believe the same things that we believe, that they have the same aspirations and goals for their children as we do ours, not just in life but through out eternity. Their children understand the concept too and it rivots roots deeper than anyone can imagine. Life's choices and decisions are not made just on the here and now but forever. WE have similar goals. We don't want to be millionaries but we want to be secure and happy, we don't want to be fanatical but we want to be faithful. My brother and sister in law have been a part of the wind beneath our wings!

I'm so thankful to my extended family, my husband's extended family as well as our ward family. Thank you for blowing and being the wind beneath our wings! What a great family my children are lucky to be a part of.

Love, MG and all who reside at her nest!

It is so amazing to SEE how family can come through for us in our deepest, darkest hour. To be a part of a family like that is an immeasurable blessing!

Things have gotten tight around here financially and I need to make some money. I can either get a crappy job OR I can finally do my consulting business. I've been scared to do that. However, in the last 2 days, I've had 3 family members (including my sister's Father-in-law who is technically NOT part of my family) offer me money to start it if I need it. I don't think I'll need it but the offer brought me to tears. There is nothing like the comfort that comes when you realize you AREN'T going it alone. Having a family team backing you is just amazing.

I suspect that your family relationships are forever changed as a result of this experience- and THAT is a wonderful blessing. You all must give A LOT of yourselves to be so loved by others.

Thank you for such a sweet post. I feel so much the same way. Our visits have become more and more meaningful to me. I love to be together. We have learned so much as we have watched you all walk through hard times over this past year. It has strengthened our family to watch yours and know that prayers are being answered in the way the Lord wanted them to be. I am so happy for you. I feel such a load lifted for your family.
now on to refinish blake's dresser and read your blog roll!!!

I am so thanful for family, too. It makes me feel bad for those that don't have family to speak of. There definitely was a reason Heavenly Father gave us the family unit. Can you imagine if we were each down here on our own?

When you break it all down, family is the most important thing.
