I know craigslist has been around forever. But, I have just recently been introduced to it for about 3 wks, in our search for homes to lease/purchase.
Mr. Incredible has listed a few things every so often but has never gotten any true sales. UNTIL recently! I'll be darned he sold out Warrior's little mexican mobile and turned a pretty penny too. Had it not had a little crease in the side, we got of gotten 2 grand more than what we paid for it! The guy who purchased the truck has a body shop and he came rolling up with $100 bills rolled in rubber bands! I KID YOU NOT!!
Yeah, I was thinking what you are thinking, "Is that drug money?" But, they were all crisp $100 bills too and then I was thinking "is that counterfeit" (Yeah, I know, I'm so trusting aren't I?)
you can see a glimpse of his truck, the speakers were not sold with it.
He listed the weight bench and all the weights and cash flew in, this time with out the rubber bands wrapped around the wad of money. And then he listed tires
tires that are bye bye

and they went out the door! The people who bought these travelled A LONG WAY just to get them. So, of course, with all this new recent denaro coming in. I decided I would give craigslist a go!
So, I scrounged around through the things I WAS going to bring to St. Louis and found many baby items. I've listed it for a day and many responses have come through.
I have listed a vtech toy for $20
Baby gym

A gym set for $20
A bassinet and playpen for $25 (its a play yard, but if you have an infant, there is an insert and the best thing about it, is it all packs up and you can roll it out to the park or wherever! perfect for the out of town guest or if you have an upstairs downstairs.

See how it's perfect for the younger baby? (Oh my heart just bleeds)
A battery operated swing for $15 It has 3 levels and it isn't like the fancy schmancy ones that are out there today. But, It is still a good swing.

and a great baby sleeper/bouncer which is perfect for the beach, park or camping
or an over nighter for $20. This is my favorite peice! I still have emotional ties to it. I want $25. But, I need to let it go.
I have a ton of baby girl clothes sizes newborn to 4 years of age that I'm just going to offer out at $2 to $3 a piece for the good stuff and $1 for everything else and $1 for shoes! I hope to entice those who come for the baby gear to help rid my garbage bags full of clothes! If I get $1 an item, its still better than going to goodwill who will charge you $3 or $5! I have saved 2 large duffle bags of clothes for keeps and all the rest will be sold. ::sniff sniff:: waah waah, Mr. Incredible's fine that I have 2 large bags because we are getting rid of 5 other bags!
DARN THOSE OVARIES AND UTERUS!! It's all their fault for not co-operating or I would have still been having BABIES! I spit on their fallopian tubes and fart in their direction! UMPH, take that!
I keep thinking I will need this again one day! but, perhaps as I let it go I will at least have these pictures for memories! So, that I can look back and swoon upon! I'm not a hoarder or very sentimental but many of my worst and fondest moments were when my children were in these or used these.

see how perfect this is to keep the mosquitos and flies away from baby?

I have the most emotional tie to this because it was perfect in so many ways!
I had a lot of requests for the baby equipment. One responded and she will have 24 hours to pick it up or it will go to the next person on the list. THIS IS SO MUCH FUN!
It's time consuming though. But, will be worth it because I won't have to move it and will have some cash!
Youth life jacket $7 wt. 50-90lbs. Perfect since we live 2 miles from the lake. $5
A toddler/infant life jacket, which is a life saver around the pool or lake. I love how it has the floatation device behind the neck and the strap that goes between the child's legs to keep the vest securely on the shoulders. $10, it cost $90.00
ON TO THINGS WITH LESS EMOTIONAL ATTACHMENTS AND MORE MONETARY VALUE
I have listed my helmet, my leather jacket and anything else I can think of!
My leather ICON jacket and arai helmet! (since Warrior demolished my bike, I have no need for this) that helmet was a full months mortgage payment! (yeah!)
who needs a garage sale! I wish I got turned onto craigslist a long time ago.
Dirt bike helmets
we have 6, in various sizes!
DIRT BIKE! (we may keep this, if we like the home with 3 acres)
People have offered me a playstation3, with controllers and 12 games, an ipod touch, a stero system, but I just want cold hard cash! Cause, that's our gas money to get to St. Louis! (or in my mind it is, because I'm using any extra money to bail us out of debt and if I can sell everything short of the kitchen sink that could happen pretty quickly! BECAUSE I want to do some spending! LOL, kidding!!! NO DEBT NO DEBT!!
If you haven't gotten on to Craigslist. Give it a try! You will be addicted when you make your first sale! I have an old eliptical that I haven't used in... well, it's going out the door cheap!
I have signed up for freecycle in the St. Louis area! I wish I was there yesterday because I am missing some great FREE items! They do it differently then Charlotte. You have to sign up for each city! So, I'm on 3 freecycles in St. Louis because I've got a trailer and willing to travel if its something I need.

Wow!!! You good for you guys on that huge sale! And your baby items have been kept in great condition!!
I have never sold on Craigslist, but used to sell on Ebay all the time! It is exciting to see your things sell!
i LOOOOVE craigslist. that is where I do all our birthday and Christmas shopping. (Baby shopping too) You have got some sweet stuff! Love the jacket and helmet : )
We have KSL.com here for that kind of thing. I have never been on Craigslist. I might have to check it out.
YAY for the loot!!
I always forget about Craigslist. I know lots of people who've had success.
Good luck with selling all your stuff. I can't believe you still have the boxes for your baby items. You are a saver!
a lady in Idaho bought our van we put on craigslist. We sold lots of things recently just to make our mortgage payment. It's great. We have to list a few more things cuz we sold everything already listed. I like it because at a garage sale ppl wont pay as much as you can get on craigs. YAY FOR CASH!
I'm a fan of Craigslist, but like Jillene said, out here it's about KSL.com. It's exactly the same thing except 10x's more people use it.
We traded our electric dryer for a gas one, got RockBand for Christmas, and bought a nice glider for baby and me, all through KSL.
That's AWESOME that you've had such success!!! I hope you can sell everything else you want to get rid of!
I must just not be a sentimental person. I just got rid of 6 totes of baby clothes that don't fit Jack anymore. I've kept blessing outfits, that's all. I've looked a tiny at Craig's list, I'll have to check it out more! You inspire me. Watch you have a grandbaby in two years and have to go buy it all again.. lol. KIDDING.
wow I wish i lived closer to you.. My brother needs that swing.. :) I would want cold hard cash too. I am glad you are having success..!!
I know lots of people who are Craigslist junkies. I have never looked at it too much but you have opened my eyes - Maybe this summer when we clean out the attic....
Whoo Hooo! Mama wants to see her baby in Hawaii!! Do I have that much good stuff??
I'm glad you did so well. That is freaky about the guys with the rolls of bills.
LOL... Craigslist is pretty cool. We have a thing like that more local in our area that we use and have been way successful at selling stuff.
That is way cool! Good for you guys!! I am so excited for you guys to start over in St. Louis!! How awesome!!
I love freecycle too! Here in UT KSL has the best website, we found some fantastic stuff in good condition too, also Salvation Army and DI are some of my other faves!
I hardly use Craigslist, but it helped us find a cheap 3rd row seat for our SUV so I definitely love it as well! I can't wait to see your new place! Hope all is well and that you are getting through the move well! Happy Valentine's Day!
I have never used Craigs list before. I might just have to give it a try before to long. I have plenty of stuff that I would not mind selling.
so glad you are able to sell the items on Craigs list! Yay for you!
