( A special gift is at the end of this post)
December has already come and gone! Here is a bit of what we have been up to! We had a wonderful snow fall for Thanksgiving and also on Christmas Eve. It continued to snow all through the night and into to the day. What a beautiful White Christmas we had. Our English Mastiff, Kekoa was just beside himself! He could not stop playing and running and going crazy! It is something about the cold that just makes him so frisky!
I just adore Christmas lights and these were the best lights we found! This is a home owner who has opened his driveway to the public! We didn't even have to pay for the best Christmas lights show around! It was absolutely spectacular! The pictures make it hard to see but each of the scenes were animated! They were tossing snow balls back and forth, the mice were leading music, the penguins were skating, the soldier was saluting and an aligator was biting the dinosaurs foot, along with the soldier was lighting a cannon and it went off! So much fun to be seen! The house was pretty amazing too!
The cookie trays were quite simple this year! I made mostly bar cookies. We had lemon bars, hello dolly bars, texas sheet cake, caramel chocolate bars, red velvet cake balls and chocolate peanut butter balls, ooey gooey bars, hershey kiss cookies, reeses cookies and the pretzel mix. I did not make but I will share the recipe! We sent out many treat baskets to our friends.
Mr. Incredible placed lights on our home too! I have a night pic but I can't find it on my computer.
The back of the house! It's very very cold. The kids have also been shoe skating on our pool.
Christmas Morning we got to speak and skype with our favorite missionary, Elder Warrior! He is doing absolutely amazing and having a wonderful time!
He sent me these two pictures! The first one is a sad face with an empty box and the second one is a happy face with mail! Thank you all who are writing to him and sending him yummy care packages. He appreciates it!
He is also eating very well!
He is working very hard, too.
We were sad to learn that a few days before Christmas his bike and two other Elders bikes were stolen from the front porch of a members home they were visiting! A bit of a damper but I do hope that whomever is the recipient of those bikes appreciates the hard work that someone went through to pay for them and appreciates their person who risked to steal them so they could have them. BUMMER!
But Warrior is a Champion and he is enjoying the sites through hiking and basketball on his P-day!
He also had a sister in his ward call me on my birthday! Her daughter and I share the same day. Warrior is always thinking of his mama! After she blew the candles out, he had them re-light them, sing me happy birthday and he blew my candles out for me! Awe, so sweet. When she called me, I didn't get to speak to him but I got to know that another family is loving him, almost as much as we love him! and then for one of my BEST BIRTHDAY AND CHRISTMAS GIFTS EVER

I am so glad everything is going well for you and your family :-D
I love hearing the update and seeing the pictures and video of Elder Warrior!! Those are just great - best call of the year is talking to your missionary!!! yayyyyyyy!!!!
There really is not much better on Christmas day than that missionary phone call. Congrats on having a missionary that is working hard, and the peace of knowing someone on earth is also watching over him.
This was inspiring. Thank you! The pictures are wonderful. You do great photography. I laughed at your son's picture opening the mailbox and seeing nothing and then seeing it full. That's really, really clever! And how sweet of a son you have to call you on your birthday, sing to you, and have that dear sweet sister "share" her birthday cake with you. That is such a wonderful thing to do! BTW, your home is absolutely gorgeous!
Such a wonderful son to think of his momma on her birthday. Love the photos he sent.
I did not need to do much baking for Christmas, my neighbors kept me well supplied. So, my daughters and I spent to day making some treats to share for New Years.
Glad to catch up with you!
Wow....they sing beautifully!! And your boy is so handsome!!!!
