It's moving day for this sweet family and despite the packing for weeks prior it was still a bear getting the last minute things packed. I should also mention we had a rain storm roll in which stunted the process and we had to move everything from the outside back inside! My feet were howling and going up and down the stairs carrying multiple boxes was hard on this old out of shape woman. Out of shape was the bigger culprit and not my age, well that and the humidity! I got dizzy and light headed a bit, it was so hot!! But, no time for that and no time for pictures! I may have gotten chastized a bit for picture taking. Can you guess which picture depicts that?? I think it is funny and so I chose to add it. He's a great man and a hard worker and I was suppose to be taking a picture of the gal holding the other end of the couch, but I chose to snap one off of him too. OOPS!!!
What you don't see is they were struggling with this couch. So, I quickly put my phone away and grabbed the couch. I thought it was heavier than it was because when I grabbed that thing it went soaring down the hallway. I am a very strong woman and that is not being boastful, it is just a pure fact. In fact, when we moved I would jokingly say if I can out arm wrestle you, we don't need you!(there was truth to that) What a good day to serve!
YES, my kids were there too!
It has always been Mr. Incredible and my feelings that children no matter how young or small they are should be wherever we are! Children should see you serve and yes it may be more cumbersome but you are teaching and showing them that they need to be there also. And children can help and it may be miserable for them at some point but they can handle a little discomfort and then take them home for a nap or food etc. Discomfort and tolerance for young children is ok! let me write this again: Discomfort and tolerance for young children is ok!
Teach them how to adjust. I'm not saying they have to stay there for 8 hours but it is ok to try to work it out with them. We are a family and we have always toted our small children in strollers and in back packs to the church to clean. Life isn't always about doing what is easiest but everything has a teaching moment! I was happy to see these young children and a few other young one's serving by their dad's sides.
Our sweet tired mama! The last of the bedroom furniture to go out
the couch
The one I should be capturing!
