She has started yet another high school. My heart aches a bit when I think that she has started a new year of high school every year, that is so sad to me! 9th grade Eureka High School in Mo, 10th grade Johnstown High School in NY, and now 11th grade at Hickory Ridge High School in NC.
It brings to mind the scripture D&C 122:7
7 And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.
I love that she hasn't wallowed in pity and sorrow but she has stayed firmly rooted in her foundation of the gospel. I know she has turned to the Lord in tears at time praying and seeking for comfort and help to carry on. I love that we have never had to compel her to go to seminary or church. Seminary was challenging this year not just for her but for everyone involved in the program and I stand in awe of her faith to still attend. She has learned a lesson that many adults still struggle with. WE do not go or attend for anyone or any reason other than for ourselves. She has a testimony that doing all these things asked of her, will allow the blessings from heaven to flow unto her.
There were also some very difficult and trying times that she had to face and I'm so grateful that she didn't have to face them on her own. That these experiences happened while she was home and she had Mr. Incredible and I to turn to and help guide and encourage. I'm glad she didn't have to experience these things alone. Some children never have such drastic changes and some have so much more to experience. Some may have to experience heartache away from their strongest support systems. I look forward to seeing her grow into such a beautiful woman, wife and mother.
