SPT- Olympics (fortius)

pics of my bike! Read all about it.

SPT ~ Olympic style

For the month of August Lelly has challenged us to ........
"for spt, i will challenge myself to uphold the ideals of the Olympic motto:

citius, altius, fortius
[faster, higher, stronger]
These three words encourage the athlete to give his or her best during competition, and to view this effort as a victory in itself."
each week, think about the Olympic motto, and how it can apply to our every day lives. citius. altius. fortius. are we giving our best? can we find victories in the efforts we make every day?

This self portrait or pic of me was taken two years ago of me in my NC motorcycle class. I was so worried that I would not pass the weekend class. I actually did quite well. Ok, really well. I was on a very tiny Honda Rebel 200, which is small compared to my HONDA CBR 600 F4i, yeah a little bragging. But, I did it! I was scared senseless and overcame my fear and actually enjoyed it. I would have never done it if Mr. Incredible did not push, shove, kick and lovingly support me. jk, sorta... Ok, it's the truth! I'm so glad he did and that is the TRUTH.

I am going to put this under stronger. (fortius) I am a stronger person mentally. I never thought I could do this and I stuck with it and I did it. I am stronger because I have a stronger will to succeed at everything I do. I am stronger for taking this class because it pushed me beyond the boundaries I thought I was capable of. Many people look at me and look at my bike and are impressed that I can ride. I am definitely a sports car kinda gal, stuck in an SUV, but I enjoy riding. It's just the stopping that I have issues with! LOL

That is so funny about the stopping part. I think you must look fab on a bike. Really fab. Your hair all blowing in the wind.

Xtremely cool.

Wow, good for you! My husband has done that for me, too and it made me a much better person. Husband's are great that way- they know enough when to push you a little over your boundaries! Yeah for good husbands!

SAWEEET! I didn't know that you were a biker babe. Way to go Bill to shove you right in there. My bro got a motorcycle two years ago and was rear ended and dragged under car for a while. It scared the crap out of me, Sean is still working on me to let him get a bike. I grew up riding dirt bikes, so I don't know why I'm so afraid. Maybe it's just the control thing, you can be the best rider ever, but you can't control the other idiots on the road who text while driving. I've also banned dh from motors at the pd. Am I bad? okay don't answer that! I'm proud of you though, just don't die please. I don't want to be a friend short!

You are rockin' on that thing. I can't believe you do that! So cool.

I'll have to google the bike you said you have. I have no idea what that means...of course you could use it as "faster" for next week's challenge.
You're so cool

You are a biker babe! That is so cool. You go, girl! And your bike---what a beauty. I'm jealous though. I'm a little scare-dy cat. I don't think I can ever learn to ride a bike. But this post and the link to your friend's inspired me. I want to find something that I can learn to do that will make me stronger. Your posts are always great. I'm going to add you to my blog roll if you don't mind.

BEAUTIFUL pictures! :)

So dangerous riding a motorcycle, but thrilling nonetheless. Good to see you're wearing a helmet ;)
