FRESHMAN PRINCESS

Beauty was nominated for Freshman princess for Homecoming Court. She was excited and nervous because there were other girls nominated. They have narrowed it down to two girls. Beauty is one of them. They will have one day to campaign and then the final votes go in.
Beauty and Warrior go to a fairly large school. It isn't as large as some of the schools in California but it holds it own.
We are having fun coming up with a few posters and maybe some candy treats and baked goods to pass out. The other girls that were in the top nominees were also Beauty's friends so it made it difficult. The other girl who is her friend but competitive rival will be campaigning too. I wish Beauty the best. These things are truly a popularity contest. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Having a cute big brother who is also a senior definitely helps her status as a freshman! Beauty went to Scarowinds and ordered some food. Some how in conversation it came up that Warrior was her older brother. Beauty got her entire meal for free and free food for her friends because the girl loved Warrior. Did you ever work at a place where you gave out free food to your friends? I did. When we go out on Friday night for football games. I am always surprised how many girls are wearing my son's number painted on them and their shirts.

Were you popular back in the day? Were you nominated to be homecoming queen or part of the court? What senior suplerative did you get? I was never nominated for that sort of thing. I was a jock. I wasn't THE "in" girl but hung with the "in" crowd and the jock crowd and the "brainiacs". I flitted around from group to group. How strange that this is exactly what I do in my adulthood. I am friends with everyone but truly close to no one. I have serious trust issues.

Your daughter is BEAUTIFUL!!!! She'll win. She has to. Who wouldn't vote for her? You baked some great looking babies in your oven, Momma! Whatever it is in your DNA you need to bottle it and sell it so we can populate the world with more beautiful, talented people.

Way to go Beauty!!

I was a band ____, who never really hung out with any one group. Like you hung out with a different group. I was friends with many, never close though. I have one friend I consider close but we did not go to high school together. We attended church together.

Good luck Beauty!

i agree with everyone that she is beautiful and i'm so proud to say that she is family! i have all the faith that she will represent well!
i wasn't popular but i wasn't a castout either. i was fortunate to be friends with the jocks, the nerds, the day students and the boarders. i really didn't have close friends but i lived in a dorm of girls and that alone could make anyone cautious about friendships.

She is beautiful, and I'm sure she's just as nice and beautiful on the inside. Good luck to her!

I also gave free food to my friends and boyfriend.

gurl! She is gorgimas! If I could vote I'd vote for her! Because I know the beauty she has inside her! You have raised a beauty of a family.

Good luck to your daughter. I have a freshman, too! I hate popularity things. I was first runner up to the Homecoming Queen. My aunt was the same thing several years before me. We didn't campaign though. Just a school vote and call it good. My Mikele campaigned for student body secretary one year and was voted in. She said from now on she will help campaign and not do it herself. To much stress and hurt feelings.

Holy Moly Beauty is just that Beautiful! She is stunning.
No I was never popular in that way. I was also a major jock. My jr & senior yr I hung out with popular people but they were younger then me...

Good luck Beauty! I hope you're enjoying these fun times!!

I loved high school but like you, was friends with many but not super close to any. Same now. Tis life.

Have a super day!! Good luck Beauty!!

I hate to copy what everyone else says but seriously, that girl is beyond STUNNING!!!!!!!!!

My daughter gets free stuff but not because of her brother, mostly because she's being waited on by a young man that thinks she's cute. She just got free drinks and tokens at the batting cages last week and a promise from this boy to investigate the church! How's that for an hour of batting practice?!

I also have trust issues. I try to work on it but the fact remains that most people have proven themselves to be untrustworthy. Sad but true.

She is a beauty. I hope she has fun and accepts the outcome with a peaceful heart.

I was just like you. Flitting around from group to group. I was of course at every event as the school's photographer.

Wish I had gotten more involved but that is the past and I am good with what I did do.

Let us know how she does. I will be thinking of her. m

Congrats to Beauty! She is a beauty!

And me? I was a whats-her-face? The girl with three friends eating in the pop tarts and doritos ON CAMPUS at lunch. (A total nerd, but okay with it kinda girl.)

No wonder you call her Beauty, she earned that name!!! She is gorgeous!!! Good Luck, Beaty! Let us know what the outcome is!!!

Man she is sooo gorgeous! It's always nice to have siblings in school that are older. I love these pictures! I was not really that popular, but I was nominated for Senior Prom...didn't win though but it was still fun! I was involved in the Polynesian Club at school and loved it!

Holy smokes Batman! She is out of this world beautiful!!

I flitted from group to group in my highschool years... and I do the same thing now. I look at it as not having trust issues, but being able to be friends with everyone! Being a floater is a much better way to be than being tied to 1 group.

I will campaign for her... she is a knock out!

Hey you, I tagged you... You prob have already been tagged but I checked and you haven't played!!!

Congratulations to your daughter for being nominated! She is beautiful!! I was like you in high school - got along with different groups, but was never nominated for things like this! How exciting!

wow, she has turned out to be such a KNOCK OUT. she looks so grown up. time seems to be flying by with our kids, huh? and what is this about warrior??? he has groupies??? this is crazy stuff!!! but how fun for him (and beauty since the perks extend to sibs! LOL) it's such a good feeling to be proud of your older brother. to be popular by association...that's a nice feeling. i remember that with my older sibs.
you know what i was like in high school? i like to say i was a major nerd, but the truth is i just kind of blended in...i was a wallflower i guess. i had friends from all kinds of different cliques because i didn't want to commit to any one "group" myself. i joined lots of clubs (so i had a wide variety of "club" friends like Amnesty international, the poetry club, the spanish club... i also ran track,so i had friends from the track team. and i worked so i had work friends (some popular, some not)and of course there were my LDS friends (we were few in number but pretty tight knit...and then i had my punk friends. i went through a punk phase, but i still had a letter jacket. i lettered in choir, so i had tons of choir friends too.LOL i didn't really fit in with any ONE group of people. i just did my own thing.

I'm sure even without Warrior she could stand on her own, but it sure doesn't hurt! How fun, and yet, kind of a scary way to start out HS. Good luck to her!

I had lots of awesome friends. We weren't in The Group, but we weren't nobodies either. It was a very nice place to be. But, I did have a very popular older sis, and I got a few free rides on her coat tails! Gotta use what you've got!

I can't believe she leaves the house without a bodyguard!! Oh my heck! SHe has my vote which counts for 10! Cuz I said so!
In high school I flitted around every group. I was a jock, I had friends from the gangs, preppies, cowboys, skaters, popular, and nerds. I just never could put up with the groups. I would get restless. I am the same way today, friends with everyone but not close with any one except my younger sister and a friend up in Seattle and of course my man is my number 1.

She is so gorgeous, and yet I'm glad I'm not a freshman in high school anymore.

I was a nerd. With a capital N.

I think that having you as a mom that Beauty will have the right perspective about whatever the outcome will be. Not only is she beautiful on the outside but her sweet spirit also radiates from her eyes and smile.

Beauty is gorgeous! I just finished reading about ALL your gorgeous kids and after reading Warriors and how he won't cut his hair because of his heritage, am curious as to your heritage. Obviously I read about the Hawaiian names, but is there more mixed in there? So gorgeous. But I am confused as to how old they are, it said Beauty was 13 but I don't know when you wrote that! I hope she wins, she sounds like a sweetie, though your daughter Sweetheart has me the most, someone who sticks up for the underdog?! Awesome!

I was SO not part of the "in" crowd. I didn't do sports anywhere but in YW too. I was one of the unpopular, if thats a category. Kids are just mean...it's a guilty pleasure to see an old high school person and they look bad or something. I know, I'm terrible, but they picked on me horribly. I was too tall, had freckles, we were lower middle class so I couldn't afford Nikes or champion shirts (the "in" clothes)...so glad that part of life is OVER!!

It is a nice perk to have such a great older bro...I was one of those that benefited from that too.

1 of the top 2 is pretty amazing.

And, she is beautiful no matter what.

WoW! What a beautiful girl...makes me wish I had a son her age...we could marry them off and hang together.
