krispy kreme donuts

We went on our drive to see the annual Christmas lights in McAdenville. Everyone piled in the car with their holiday spirits and Christmas hats excited for the lights. We were met very quickly with by this and accidents on the side of the road also hindered our arrival.

The traffic was horrendous but we kept our holiday cheer and were determined to see an entire town decorated with Christmas lights. Like I said, "TRADITION"!
We finally waded through all the traffic only to be shuffled back onto the highway. What the heck.... Ok, we get back in line and wait, and wait. WOOHOO, we are in Lowelsville or something like that. We are granted at least a change of scenery and we drive through this quaint little town. Look at this picture! I have heard the southern accent but just because it SOUNDS that way, DOES NOT MEAN you SPELL it that way!

Can't you just hear that sweet southern accent, "We SALE watches?"

This should have given us an incling of what would lie ahead. It is now 9:45 and we reach 4 police officers with their orange little wand flashlights directing traffic back onto the dadgum highway! WHAT?? NOoooooooooo, Mr. Incredible rolls his window down and then tell him the Christmas lights are OFF! You have got to be freakin' kidding me.

IN comes Krispy Kremes

Did you know North Carolina is home of the Krispy Kreme Donut? Did you also know that because of cost they had to shut down many full operating stores? There is a town near the Christmas town that has a great full blown watch the donut as it drops shop. LOL, my kids love to go there and watch the process and then eat it HOT off the press.
The girls walk out. The doors are LOCKED! WHAT?? Oh no, not after being shut out from the Christmas lights.

We pile into the car and get in the drive thru lane. Their are at least 10 cars behind us.
Mr. Incredible orders a couple dozen donuts and the reply back is sorry we can't do that for you. We are boxing our donuts for tomorrow morning. What, sell me the donuts now, not tomorrow. The little person in the black box replies, "sorry sir, if we sell them now we won't have our quota for tomorrow." Fine whatever.
As we drive off we hear the little black box say,"sorry we are closed we are out of donuts". I guess we won't be pitching a fit and be happy we got donuts. I just knew HF knew I couldn't handle being jilted by the lights and then the donuts. It would be too much for me and I might go postal.
It comes off the shelf into a batch of hot grease

Down the conveyor belt and under a contraption where sweet glaze is poured over them back around a belt for cooling and then boxed.

Thank you Heavenly Father. Thank you for medicating me with sugar and carbs and grease oh and Thank you for the increase pant size! NOT! but seriously, I am thankful.

Mr. Incredible was initially going to pitch a fit but seeing that we could have been the many cars behind us. He decided against it. See, he's smart like that.
Instead we were dripping with grace and thank you's so much that they gave us coupons more than we could ever eat. LOL. No letter of complaint this time just a great letter of customer service.

what a trip!
I love family traditions...I hope you are able to see the lights before the new year.
I think the last time I had a Krispy Kreme was 8 months ago when we took our youngest to the MTC in Provo.
We do not have a KK in our area.
Merry Christmas
