WE always celebrate Valentine's Day. I love to make holidays special for my children. This year I decided to heart attack their bedroom doors and on each heart write what I love the most about each of them! You know it is March and those hearts are still on their doors. I think they really appreciated it as well.
Each of the children had a cute little stuffed animal and balloons. Dash received a basketball because he already had a red shirt to wear.
Dash absolutely LOVES his monkey. He named him Roger. I forget that my boy is only 10. He is also a boy who has not received many toys. So, it was endearing to me to see him attach to such a simple gift. This boy is a sports and outdoors boy!
Beauty had a red shirt and white bear and Sweetheart received a pink sweater and black bear!
For Some Valentine's Day is a day of happiness and goodness and giving but for others it is a day of dread and sadness. I have thought so much about giving to my family that I began to feel selfish because I have so much abundance in my life when it comes to love! I've never experienced a deep loss. I loss my grand mother which has been very moving because she was so significant in my life. But, immediate family members and my family. Everyone is still with me! I'm so thankful. (We are about to deliver our heart attacks for people's doors, balloons, and flowers!) They had so much fun doing this! We made little heart cinnamon rolls too!
I wanted my children to think of others and carry on a tradition that it isn't about who loves us but who we love and that we should be extra sensitive to others who are lonely, single, widowed or divorced. Great wonderful beautiful people who may have a few dark clouds lurking around them on this holiday of "Love".
This is one home that we were able to actually take a picture of, because she wasn't home! LOL
And the world would have us only focus on Commercial love but we should be centered on Christlike Love and when we Love the Lord thy God with all our heart, mind and strength then we can love our neighbor as thyself! Upon these two commandments is everything based. I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day. I hope next year as you are running about having special dinners, flowers and chocolates that you think of others who may be hurting or a bit sad on this day and share that big heart of yours with many others.
Our most favorite family gift that we received was Kinect for Xbox! Dance Fever or Dance Party but we have been laughing and dancing our bootys off! The kids just LURVE it!!
Here's a tid bit of info! Dash and Beauty battle back and forth for First Place! Boys got moves!
