Twas the Night Before Easter

Twas the night before Easter and all through the house every creature was stirring except for our mouse. The baskets were placed by the chimney with care in hopes that Peter Rabbit soon would be there.
The color is chosen and mom has found great sales and great deals. Knowing Easter morning she'll hear nothing but squeals.
Our home has excitement and thrill in the air because this year a guest will be there.
All of the fun and running is done.
We love the Easter bunny that leaves his droppings behind but more importantly the true meaning of Easter we'll find.
We are so grateful for Christ, our Saviour and choose to honor him by exemplifying good behavior. WE wish you peace, joy and happiness from Mother Goose and her nest!
EASTER 2008 Picture(aqua, brown, and purple were our colors)

Ok, here are the pictures for our resurrection cookies.
Beat the pecans - Read appropriate scripture. Christ was beaten

Read Scripture: When Christ was thirsty He asked for a drink. add 1tsp. vinegar

We love the wonderful Easter bunny that leaves his cotton tails behind but more importantly the true meaning of Easter we'll find. We know the true reason for the celebration is because Christ, our Lord and Savior, has been risen.
Add 3 egg whites and read appropriate scripture and add sugar.

Beat on high until stiff peaks form

Fold in pecans

Pour out onto wax paper

Make sure you turned oven to 300 degrees when you started the scripture reading.
Then turn oven off and seal with tape.

I pulled these early to show you that they meringues are starting to turn hollow. They found that Christ's tomb was empty too.

ANOTHER TREAT WE MADE

WE took oreo cookies and melted chocolate. WE dipped them into the chocolate and placed a sugar decal on to them. These were way too sweet for me, but they definitely appease Dash who adores oreos and can't get enough sugar.

WE had left over chocolate and Dash also loves rice crispy treats. I found this idea in a magazine. Like Family fun or ladies journal. Make rice crispies and then melt your chocolate. Dip crispies into chocolate and decorate with bunny face.
These look more like a possessed bunny but we made them quarter to midnight. So, I was starting to feel like a posessed bunny.

Then we decided that we would make jelly bean bracelets. These weren't so great but Sweetheart likes crafting. You will need stretchy craft cord, jelly beans and a long needle. We used a lei needle.

Wow. I am so impressed. I am such an underachiever! I overslept and didn't even get my kids baskets hidden before they woke up. And look at you! I love the Resurection cookies idea. Perhaps it's not too late to redeem myself today by making these. Thanks for sharing!

PS- and that's a good looking lot of kids you've got there! Wow!

Oh fun! We made the Resurrection cookies last night and opened the oven this morning for the hollow surprise. It was a neat activity, the first time we had ever done it. Your pictures of your family making these are cute.

So that's how resurrection cookies look like? I always wondered.

I love reading all the goodies that you made with your kids! I wish my son was still interested in doing those things, now if he had younger sibs, that's a different story.

Your kids are gorgeous!
