Soccer

Look at this shot

Check out the intensity on his eyes. His eyes have never left sight of the ball. He was knocked down between two defenders. His concentration and awareness is still focussed on the ball. He DOES NOT lose the ball. Gets up and still has posession!! CUH-RAZY!
Our season of soccer has begun. I really enjoy watching my children play soccer. I am amazed by the things Dash can do with his body. It's simply amazing. He caught a ball in the air with his feet, dropped it and had control of the ball to take it up the field.
By the way, I have been dutifully chastised by my daughter that I have no pictures of her!! I am so so very sorry and will make up for it next week! I promise!!!
Sweetheart is playing on the challenge team. She was not chosen last season, huge mistake in my eyes. She didn't try out for challenge this year. The coaches saught her. Sweeheart has not missed a step with her team. She has earned a starter position. Amazing, since this team has played with the same members for a few years and have practiced more but she is able to come out fresh and attribute to the team, without playing at their level.

The fees for challenge is practically insane. They have invited her out to play with them knowing that we could not cover the fees. She is considered scholarship. I am so grateful that she is able to play despite our financial situation. Dash is also able to play. The association has informed us that Dash would be able to play no matter our financial situation and if we can pay some that would be fine. For our association the fees for rec are $125 a season for rec and it is $600 a child to play challenge for the year. Dash is far above and has played on the challenge team. He played one season last year and an indoor. We live in a wonderful community.

Saturday was their first games. I am so glad that their games were spaced far enough apart that we were able to watch both. Both of them play games that are away from home so getting each of them at their destinations is a little tricky. There is no other mom that compares to a "soccer mom"! except maybe a pageant mom. ICK to the soccer moms!

Ok...confession time...I used to be a pageant mom...I know...pick your jaw back up. LOL! I wasn't an icky one though...we met some real characters...Manga Dork loved it. We did the ones where the kids could not wear anything "fake"...not even much makeup. It was a good experience for us and we quit as soon as Manga Dork gave the "word."

What great shots! You are amazing with your camera. I wish I could do half as good. You can tell he loves the game & does really well.
How do you find out about scholarships for sports like that? I would love to put my kids in something but never do because of the money... Tyler is the only one to played 1 season of soccer 2 yrs ago.. I'm a bad mom!!!

Sports can get so expensive. I'm glad you were able to get a scholarship. Sounds like you've got some good little athletes in your midst.

Wow! He sounds amazingly good! Our oldest played soccer and played for the United States Naval Academy as well. It's a fantastic sport. My daughter started this year and their team is struggling, but it's a joy to watch her play, so I totally understand your pride and joy!

Abigail LOVES soccer. She is on scholarship right now too.

She plays on an all boys team this season. I am sure some of the boys dads aren't happy about it but she's just as good. :)

Love your shots.
