NY parties, anniversaries and graduations!

while we were there we helped clean the boat and put the boat in for holiday fun! We were able to see my nephew graduate and attend his party and also able to go to my sister in law's nephew's party! The two boys are born very close to each other and since they were born they were close.  Many of my neice and nephews parties are combined with both families and my parents usually have my sister in laws mother go out to dinner with them or go to their house for Mother's day!  

There was a lot of wood to be burned through the night for a great bon fire!

These lanterns continue to be my favorite. I am just in love with them and there were many that were lit that night. Over 30! 

MY ANNIVERSARY GIFT

Look what my parents got me for my anniversary gift??! I got a new camera! I love it! It is amazing and I'm so grateful! Thank you so much. 

Finally 21

The girl who I asked to take our picture was less than enthused! Perhaps it was the instructions I gave her. I wanted her to focus on Moroni and we would stand really close to the camera. I think she was opposed to closeness! Warrior has already been through this temple for baptisms! He got to do baptisms when they came for youth conference with our NC ward! I can't wait until we get to do a session there WITH HIM! Both grandparents said they want to go also!


Mr. Incredible and I celebrated an anniversary recently! Twenty one years of bliss! HA! It would be a lie if it were all bliss and it would be a tragedy. What a wonderful beautiful journey I would have missed if it weren't sprinkled with showers torrential down pours. After the storm comes the sweet realization that God knows our needs and if two people are renewing their baptismal covenants weekly and obeying their temple covenants that EVERYTHING can be settled after the storms.

I had planned that we would spend this anniversary on the shores of Hawaii. But, as I kept planning our getaway I was very restless with the decision. I suggested California, then New York City and then Mr. Incredible suggested DC. I thought we could fly to the Biltmore. The uneasiness came because we only had 4 days. The perfect solution was to go back to Nauvoo.

We drove like we were a bunch of teenagers in my daughter's convertible with the roof down. We packed an over night bag. We arrived and did a sealing and a session. It is beautiful! It is amazing it should be listed as one of the things to do on your BUCKET LIST! Seriously. The craftsmanship, the intense spirit that resides there is beyond words. I can not explain the reverence and respect that I felt while walking those sacred halls.

Mr. Incredible said it was more special than going to Hawaii! That melted my heart and solidified the feelings of why I would marry him again and again. As a young girl of 19, I had no idea how great a man I had. I'm so thankful that I didn't vary from my qualities of what I sought for in a husband. I'm so thankful for my Young Women leaders who asked us to make a list. I grew up in a small town and never really thought that I would find someone with all those qualities.

Happy 20th Anniversary

Twenty years ago today, I made the best decision of my life! I chose to marry you.
WE have learned and grown so much! My heart still melts when I see you, my heart skips a beat at the sound of your truck pulling into our driveway and my knees go weak at hello and my skirt still flies up at your touch! I love you!

WE have learned not to sweat the little things but take joy in the simple things. We have learned that when life gives us a lemons we make lemonaide! You are a wonderful man, son, husband, father and a man of honor who recognizes God in all things!
Life has been a blur.

But it has always been worth it!
