2010 Christmas Break

This year during Christmas break everyone enjoyed going to an archery place and they really did quite well shooting a bow.  Mr. Incredible has been hunting with a bow in our back yard and has become quite the hunter and our freezer is stocked with delicious venison!!! Dash, is finding another thing that he is good at! He just has to work on being still in the tree stand! Our beautiful daughters never cease to amaze me. I love how they are so willing to try new things and then to realize they are great at it! There isn't anything they CAN NOT DO, if they decide they WANT to DO it!! My family is simply amazing and I am so blessed to be along for the beautiful journey!
Our dog Kekoa loves the snow!! He has found his home and his purpose in life when we moved here! He is the king of his castle and the King of that big country road we have in front of our home! Occasionally, we have people bring him home to us or stop there cars at the top of the driveway and walk him to our front door. They are so good to him and they love him too! He's my Kekoa! Those truck pictures are of Mr. Incredible DRIFTING! He drifts in our driveway and since we are also the only house our road, it is slotted for 3 other homes to be built, I do not see that happening so he is having fun on the street next to us!

WHO ROCKS da HOUSE

Chant with me:: Cheer song voice::

I say WHO rocks the house
I say the Dawg rocks the house
and when the Dawg rocks the house
He ROCKS it all the way down!

This boy can raise the roof when he sleeps. It is almost deafening.
He can rally any jet engine. But, when I look at him he just brings me peace.
Unless, I see this
Yes, he can't stay out of the trash. He is a sneaky guy. He only attacks the trash when we are completely out of the house. WE can be upstairs and he will never touch the trash but as soon as he hears the engine rev, he will go straight for the trash can. I have gotten to the car and forgotten something come in and he will be in the trash.
Yes, I try to remember to put the trash up but I forget.
He also loves entire loaves of bread. He will eat the bag and all. The sick part is we find it in his morning digestion in the back yard. Nice, huh? Wanna see??

WHAT KIND OF GIRL do you think my mama raised?? Ok, you are right I would so post it but Mr. Incredible isn't as crude as I am. :consider yourself blessed:

Kekoa, Life of an English Mastiff

Photobucket
Kekoa has the life of luxury. I've heard many say they want to come back as our dog. Heck, if I believed in reincarnation; I would too! He is such a good boy.
But, please don't leave any food out on the counters or stove top because he will get those big ole paws up there and eat anything close to edible. He has eaten complete loaves of bread. Plastic bags and all. He knows exactly what peices of furniture he is allowed on and he always obeys as long as he knows someone is in the house. If we leave he is the first to scavenger around the kitchen for anything that has something edible inside. However, I can leave a plate of cookies on the counter all day and stay out of the kitchen and he will never touch the plate. But, if he hears that front door close. He is all over the plate of goodies.

We love him and are so pleased that he is a part of our family.
He has been a wonderful addition to our family! He really has been the perfect dog for us! He is now 5 years old and their life expectancy is 8 to 10 years. It is because of their rapid growth that shortens their life span. I would definitely purchase this breed of dog again and we have been so happy with his temperment that I would only consider going back to his breeder in Ashville, NC. She has been amazing to work with and very helpful with understanding the English Mastiff breed and their temperments. She is not a mass producer and only breeds so many litters per female. We love him!

Tony Hawk Dog

Getting ready! Even has his nails painted, not that it's a pre-requisite.

He looks scary! He didn't quite appreciate the strap.
My dog puts up with so much from this family and he is happy to!
Check out his painted nails!

This is his reaction after I informed him that I was going to put him on the skate board! .... as you can see there aren't anymore pictures. Yeah, the skate board idea didn't play out as well as it did in my mind. C'est la vie!

A jellybean mastiff

My English Mastiff believes he is a horse. When we first arrived on the property he was in Dog Heaven. He had land to run on and he too finally had some friends his own size that weren't afraid of him. He tried and tried to give them the old "WHO ARE YOU SNIFF" but he just couldn't get his nose to reach. One of these days he's going to land himself a big hoof, right in the kisser.

He tried to play cat and mouse with them.

They wouldn't give him the time of day. He tried and tried to get them to play with him but all they would do is eat their hay. So, he gave it a go!

What's the big deal over eating this straw? fogettabout it! I'm through!

Actually, this is a picture of Kekoa pouting. He doesn't understand what the big deal is over these four legged large creatures. He's getting to be quite the jelly bean and Easter is still days away!
Why is the entire family out petting these things?

Why is SHE brushing him, when SHE never brushes me??

why is HE feeding this thing? He doesn't feed me!

Why is he whispering sweet nothings into his ear?

WHAT ABOUT ME???

Dear pet, the grass always looks greener on the other side! You receive countless treats and get to sleep inside, let alone on the bed most nights! Life isn't that hard!

KeKoa

Kekoa has started a new habit. He has insisted on riding to seminary when I take Beauty. He has never rode when Mr. Incredible would take her. But, he can be in a full on snore and when the bedroom door opens at 5:45am he is out the door and waiting by the front door. He loves to ride in the car! He loves to put his head half way out the window.

WE have bucket seats in the front and then bucket seats in the back and in the far back is an entire bench. He would fit perfectly back there. But, NOOOOOOO.

Kekoa has to ride with his head smack dab in the middle of us and he has to sit in the back and lean his head on the arm rest up front. He is sooo needy. BUT.... If I am driving he will work his way up to the front seat and wedge is butt so tightly in the passengers seat.

One would think he would be so uncomfortable! But, he does not mind resting his head on the dash board.

EVEN to the point where he fell asleep and was snoring! WHAT?? SNORING?? Yes,
When I snapped his picture with my phone the noise disturbed him and he awoke.
check this sleepy guy out!

DOG HAIR BE GONE

I get really anal about cleanliness and order when I have a deadline to meet. I can't stay focussed unless things are in their place! Mr. Incredible has been out of town for two weeks and home on the weekends. He has set a goal that we will be out of this house by the end of Feb and into our new home by the first of March. Did I mention he is out of town for 3wks??

My job is to prepare the house for show, then pack it and then clean it. Along with doing all the daily necessities like cooking, playing taxi and maybe go to my own job.

Packing is going quite well but I have run out of space for boxes. I want the furniture out of the house. I have shoved everything in the garage and the shed but the garage still has a ton of junk that just needs to go! My mind is swamped with everything that has to get done.

On a good day dog hair drives me batty, but on a day like today. I just want to pack the dog up and take him to the pound. who wants to touch other people's mutts hair??

I switched dog food and purchased dog food that promised to prevent shedding! This might have worked if he would have eaten the food. I let him sit for 3 days watching him starve himself and listening to his stomache growl that I couldn't stand it any longer and took the bag back to PetSmart to get a refund and buy his normal food again. I hand fed him TWO handfuls of his new food and three hours later he let me clean it up! THROW UP!! not only did I have to clean his VOMIT up but I had to clean my own! Nice, right?
Double whammy for me because not only did I clean that up but because he starved himself for three days it made his hair fall out in clumps. Sheesh, I love it when I'm brilliant!

I wrapped our furniture to keep it protected, why not wrap the dog? GENIOUS!!! I'm telling you GENIOUS!!! He now shakes and not one drop of hair falls off of him. He is extremely loud when he walks down the hallways. He's not too happy but as he went to his favorite spot it just looked like he was pouting and sad and my heart couldn't take it anymore!

I had to release him from his plastic blanket. But, it seriously did work! I may have to patent this idea. Perhaps make it from something better and just create a doggy jump suit or something, you know for lounging around the house and when he's outside he can go naked as a jay bird!
I wrapped his butt up. If you choose to do this, please don't wrap him so tightly you cut circulation off or block any of the eyes, ears, mouth and nose.

I left great ventilation for his nose, mouth, eyes and ears!

Look even his tail could wag, happily. However, it didn't wag at this moment.

I couldn't stand him pouting around the house so I am sacrificing my santity for his over all happiness.
He's pouting a bit but resting peacefully plastic free!

I am hopeless, I just love this boy! HAIR AND ALL!
Dang!! I look HOT! LOL, please add 25 pound to my face and body, this was last year! PITIFUL

Rain drops keep falling on my head (5 posts before going private)

WE have had a good amount of rain this past week.
They broke out the camping tarp and made a slide.

My grass may recover but I don't care if it doesn't. Grass will grow again. But, nothing will replace the priceless moments of laughter and memories.

The kids have played in the rain EVERY day. Ever since they were young they have always been allowed to run out barefoot fully clothed and have fun. In fact, I encouraged them to find every puddle and splash in it.
OF COURSE, WHAT WOULD our lives be if our DOG was not out having fun with the rest of the family??
Here he is, KEKOA

CHECK THIS FACE OUT! It screams F U N !
