Drive Thru Windows

Hold the pickle Hold the lettuce Special orders DO upset us. GRRR, what is it with drive thrus and the speakers and let's not mention the invisible person, the VOICE that takes your order!
Now, that soccer and football games are in full blown mode. We tend to frequent Fast Food restaurants more than I care to.

Thursday nights are the worse for us. I get home around 3:45. My two youngest arrive home at 4pm. Warrior is at football practice. Two children have soccer practice. One from 5 to 730 and the other is 6 to 7. Two different parks. As soon as practice is over with we dash out to the junior varsity football game so that I can take pictures for the team.
We eat around 930, 10 pm. Friday nights are game nights. We always go out. Usually to a sit down restaurant.

When it comes to ordering through drive thru. I have everything completely ready. I have all 6 orders, sizes and drinks ready to go. I over articulate and am extra kind to the munchkins in the little black boxes. (BTW, I despise those automated messages that come out). It makes me always say, What the??

My orders are always ready and 99% correct even when I order 3 special burgers. I used to work a drive thru when I was in high school. I know the frustration on the other end. I also know what high school people do to food items, especially the special orders. It is best to be on the speaker as little as possible. If you are asking questions upon question and having an issue. The chances of having your order tampered with has just increased considerably.

Mr. Incredible has created drive thru high maintenance children. Yes, can we have 3 hamburgers only mayo, catsup, lettuce and tomato? Then he would like a bacon double cheese burger only mayo, catsup, lettuce and tomato. Why not just say no mustard, pickle or onions. That is what they want to know! WHAT YOU DO NOT WANT ON YOUR BURGER!

Mr. Incredible places his order'just his way'
drive thru attendee, 'our burgers don't come with pickles on them'.
Mr. Incredible, GOOD, because I don't want any, no onions right?
drive thru attendee, They don't come with onions on them.
Mr. Incredible, GOOD.

We receive the order and verify that everyone has their meals. Mr. Incredible is hungry and tired. He is the first to find out after he leaves a big gaping hole in the burger that his burger has onions and pickles on it. SLAMS on brakes. Atmosphere in car changes considerably. In fact, it is darn right cold and I have to turn the heater on. I don't even have to look over or say a word. I know he has found a pickle or an onion.
I look over and a pickle is hanging out between his lips! (I kid you not) :: I roll my eyes, oh no, here we go!"

I can determine how much patience he has. Does he drive back around or does he stomp his half eaten burger inside?
STOMPS his burger inside along with the other 3 burgers.
YOU SAID, THESE BURGERS DO NOT COME WITH PICKLES ON THEM!!"
Yes, sir. We thought you wanted pickles!
I ORDERED, NO PICKLES, NO ONIONS, NO MUSTARD!
He comes back to car. I knew I should have ordered the way I always ORDER! ONLY mayo, catsup, lettuce and tomato. YES, dear! I'm sorry. Now, Chill out! what's the big deal?
I ask. Which is very unfair because had it been my meal. I would have had a tizzy, too.

When it comes to Friday Football nights after a game Mr. Incredible is always very hungry and depending on how well they played can be extremely grumpy and is usually tired. If they lose. He is grumpy, hungry and tired. These three things are highly volatile when combined. We will not eat out or frequent TGI Friday's on a losing Friday night. He will have no patience for poor service and incompetency. Please waiters and waitresses be on your top game for Friday nights! I promise if you keep his drinks filled and his food is brought out as ordered you will receive a very handsome tip.

Perfect Together

Aren't these words so true? I was 19 and Mr. Incredible was 23 when we married! So, bright eyed and young. I come from a family where my mother and father are very equal in some things and in other things my mother is clearly the matriarch. My dad while we were young was a truck driver, who worked for others. He was gone a lot and my mom had to run the house, bills and take care of 3 children.  My dad had always provided a good way of life, I remember my mom being able to take any class she desired and any craft she wanted to do. I remember always going to the grocery store and having 2 grocery carts full and our favorite treats and cereal in the pantry. We didn't vacation much, other than to Hawaii to see my grandparents but the rest of my dad's family lived in or near the same town. So, although Disney wasn't a part of my childhood. I never felt deprived. WE always went to the amusement park near by and tickets and food were readily available. We always went to the carnivals that would pass through town and cotton candy and rides were given out until we were done riding. (something that my children didn't hear. I didn't like spending money on carnivals and cotton candy what fleeting happiness. I'd rather spend it on clothes or trips)

The Mr. was brought up in a similar but different family. His was more Patriarch ruled. But, his dad was home each night and he was so much older than his mother. I remember her saying that she would have to ask to spend money on her things. I never saw that in my family. My dad's money was my mom's money and she allocated where the dollars went and how it was spent.  Mr. Incredible's dad handled finances until he passed. So, I am sure that viewing my life and mannerisms were strange to her and erred on the side of criticism and I being young couldn't see or understand the differences.

Being a mother in law myself has been very rewarding and good. I love my daughter in law. I have known her since Warrior's junior year of high school.  While he was a senior I didn't see it ending in marriage because of the years ahead of them, so I didn't view her as a daughter-in-law but liked her. But, they continued to stay in touch through college, through a mission and back again and have married. She is very much like me! We are crafty, funny, silly and she is so giving and tender. I love those things about her. She too, has a different background. Her parents didn't have the gospel in their lives so she sees life and situations a bit differently. Different doesn't mean wrong or bad, it just means different. I know that together they will make things work perfectly for them.

I hope they are as stubborn and strong and pigheaded as we were! I hope they fight hard for what they believe, even if it means fighting against each other. If you are passionate for it don't cave in. BUT do come to a mutual agreement to disagree or to UNDERSTAND another's point of view. You don't have to change their point of view but you can understand and respect it. I hope they are fighters not with each others but I hope they have passion to stand up for what they know is right, stand up for each other and fight! It is that passion and determination that is going to carry you through the hard times. You will be too stubborn to give up and when you want to the other won't let go and won't let you! And if they want to give up you will be the one holding on and not letting go. Don't give up, it's the easy way out.  Life and temple marriage was never promised to be easy but it will be worth it, and when you look up, one day you will have 25+ years of marriage behind you and your passions will have been worn and bridled or perhaps your passions have become his or his yours.

Perfect isn't flawless, perfect is perfect for you! Seek answers and advice from within the walls of the temple. Many friends and family and strangers will tell you what they think. Take it in as entertainment and then pray about what you may want to work or change or try in your marriage.
Now that we have more time with each other because our children are older we get to enjoy these little mid day get aways! What a beautiful season we are in! Not quite empty nesters but having so much more time and money for us!
WE have come along way and have journeyed a path that was walked before by others and I have felt the encouragement and the love from others who have passed along the way! Clapping and applauding each step we make and uplifting and and carrying each stubbed toe or stumble! I'm grateful for our ancestors and I'm grateful for the long marriages that we have on both sides. What a beautiful legacy.  Because Eternal Marriage is what is all about! Welcome to our Family Warrior Princess

Mr. Incredible

Mr. Incredible ordered this vacuum on line and it came today! He is super impressed by all that it does and Sweetheart and I are undecided. I think when women do the housework they should choose the tools. Just like a carpenter is selective with what tools work best for him or her. I appreciate him doing all the research and taking the time to look and order one. I'm sure we will keep our big dust sucker because I am awful at dealing with returns! So, we are the proud owners of a Shark. I do love, how my Mr. is always so true to form. He spends hours and even days and sometimes weeks searching out all of the pros and cons of his purchases. He definitely is a well informed shopper, while I tend to buy things on how pretty it looks! (sometimes) I am a cheapskate and a heavy DIY'er. If I can make it myself I will. The Mr and I compliment and complete each other like that!
Thank you so much for loving us so well! We appreciate all you do!]

See, he is vacuuming while I am sit on the couch watching this glorious specimen do his THANG!
See this perfectly well balanced dinner and hand dipped chocolate covered strawberries! YEP, he did this too.  Yes, ladies be very jealous. He's all mine and he DOES have brothers! (But, they don't do this)

Youth Conference Chaperones 2015

Did it go over exactly how I envisioned, no. Was it still amazing, OF COURSE! WE had a great group of YM in our family group of 15! The girls, I found challenging. Two girls were very into just being themselves and I didn't want to push them. They always were off doing there own thing and seperating from the family. But, it was about making sure they had a good experience so If they wanted to be where there friends were. I was ok.  They were quiet and nice! I had to play babysitter or police and I hate those roles. Why force me to put those hats on? Once, I was a coward and made Mr. Incredible play the bad guy. The girls were in another building and were suppose to be heading to another. I didn't want to go get them, so I chose to walk with the group to the devotional while Mr. Incredible went to get "my girls".  They arrived and everything was fine but I hated that I pushed it off on the Mr. to go and do what I should have done.  The other girls were a set of 3 that stayed mostly together. One girl was openly defiant but was everywhere she needed to be just was.... there is really no other way to describe her other than she was just plain rude and I held my breath and bit my tongue each time I was around her but as long as she was having an amazing experience it was ok.  We just needed to let her know all of the plans ahead of time and she was perfectly fine with being where she needed to be. What more do you need to ask for?? She also started off on a bad foot because her roommate cancelled and she was here with her male cousin.  I think to add to her frustration is the room assignments were messed up and as her chaperones we did NOT have her on our list.  In fact, we didn't even know who she was but she was positive she was in our group. So, we just added her name to our group, which is why our group numbers were off and she roomed by herself for conference.
The other two girls I didn't even see them or have contact with them other than at devotionals. They asked we sit in families, however when our group number eats lasts every meal every day, it is extremely difficult and impossible to find a table in the cafeteria that can seat 17 of us. Our goals were to get fed and then off to our very scheduled day.  There were some key things upon registration that needed tweaking, along with meal scheduling. Rotate the groups so they are not always eating last. There were hiccups that only leaders knew about that hopefully didn't trickle to the youth.  Also, it was mentioned that they were over scheduled. Constantly fed the good and not having the time to absorb and take it in and have that time to talk with their peers about what they just heard.

We connected with our good friend from years ago. We hadn't seen her since she was 4!

Dance!

Me with Miss Madelyn Page. She was a guest speaker and performer at youth conference. She is an amazing young woman! The boy behind her, we ended up adopting him in our family group too!

For the most part these are the boys that were in our family group.

I just love this boy Nathaniel. He's amazing and seriously the best person you could ever meet! What a true light!

Me and the MR! WE were all suppose to take a group picture in our shirts collectively. All 400+ but something happened.

This was the night that the heavens opened up! I found a ROOM ALL TO MYSELF!!! I slept awful and I desperately needed some alone time to get some rest. I was going to sleep in my car if I needed to because I was hurting after the first night! I was so grateful that I found this room!!! Seriously!

This man Bryan Cope was the mastermind behind this amazing weekend for Youth Conference and it was amazing and wonderful! I know the work and planning that it takes! I know the sacrifice and understand that no matter how much planning you do, something will always happen that you can't plan for!

We also got to hear Ms. Virginia speak. she is one of the oldest sister missionaries to have served. I think she finished her mission at 29! Came back entered a contest and won and now she is Ms. Virginia and her platform is modesty! She's beautiful and so nice!

At the dance they had a chaperone dance off! Yeah we were rockin' it but then there was this couple that took it to a whole new level and they stole the show!!!

It was so fun to be able to be there with our children and see and feel of the spirit of all of the great speakers and classes that were planned for the youth!

Happy Father's Day 2015

Happy Father's day to this incredible man who is THE BEST! Everyone says their man or dad is the best but I'm telling you we can put Mr. Incredible up against anyone and he would WIN! It's not cocky or arrogant it's just simply the truth! Our children really hit the lottery when they entered this family! WE even have big Nick who loves you too! You do not even realize how great and special you are because it seems to just come naturally to you! Thank you for balancing and making right all of my flaws! Together we are perfect and I love you completely! You are an amazing man who emulates our Father in Heaven in unconditional love and in expectations and in discipline. They say that a person thinks of their Father in Heaven by the example that they have in their own father or in their own parents and I know that our children know and see Heavenly Father as a loving kind father, one who wants them to come to him, in all things. One who wants them to utilize the atonement and understands his unconditional love! If our children have this knowledge of an all loving, all forgiving and knowing Father in Heaven they have gotten this testimony because of your example and constantly showing and telling them that the Lord come's first in our lives!

Deliciously Dirty 4

HOWEVER

Mr. Handsome called me everyday twice a day until the weekend. We talked about everything to nothing. I became addicted to hearing his beautiful voice on the other end. Hearing his voice at the end of a busy day was just what the Doctor ordered, the Love Doctor. I believe I was smitten. But, how could I be? We had only known each other for a mere weekend and had spoken each day for a week. But, those late night talks of sharing and opening broke down walls that would have never come down had we gone out every day. It's that physical attraction and business that gets in the way.
I said goodnight to him and had not realized that that would be the last time I would hear from him. I had just expected to get my routine morning call. But the call had never come. What had happened?  I was left with feeling lost and a bit unstable. I questioned myself as to why I had allowed myself to become so dependant on his mere phone calls and on him. I was bothered but hid those feelings of disappointments from my roommates. I finally resolved, "Oh well", It was nice while it lasted and good knowing ya..and mentally crossed Mr. Handsome off my list.

Previously written Deliciously Dirty posts can be found to the right of my side bar. Please feel free to catch up on the DD!

It was odd until a knock at my door came and I opened it to find Mr. Handsome standing on my door step grinning from ear to ear with roses again! I had already started to detatch. I knew it was mere hours but it came without warning and then here he was standing before with so many visual tantilizing stimulants before me. I was stunned. I couldn't process the amount of eye candy before me.
One, He was there in all his sexiness. Two, The sunlight kissing his blonde hair and it begging to be touched. Three, I could just feel his body temperature penetrate right through my body. I felt his eyes searing through me as his twinkling stare was comprehending my lack of response and his strong stoic body waiting for embracement. Four, He was standing before me with roses again and their sweet aroma wafted straight to my love sensory gland that undeniably shouted, "smitten" and number Five- He smelled absolutely sensual! He wore obsession for Men and clearly at one inhale I was obsessed!
But, all of these emotions happened in under one minute because the one resounding emotion that took over was that of humiliation and embarrassment and the only thing I wanted to do was flee.
Imagine my surprise? I was shocked! I was mortified! I wasn't ready! I wasn't even dressed. Especially to greet such a beautiful vision that was before me. My hair was in rollers! I was mid faced make up! My heart raced so fast I thought I was having an anxiety attack. My face was so flushed and it burned like I had a 3rd degree sunburn. I stammered, uhhh, "COME IN". I opened the door wider as I ushered him into our always messy front living area and motioned for him to have a seat on a notebook papered filled couch amongst crumpled balls of paper that clearly missed the trash can.

I didn't kiss him nor did I take those roses that were clearly purchased for me. I just let him in and  I quickly ran off into the bathroom to finish primping and nervously apply the other half of my face!
I wonder to this day, if that is how he envisioned his arrival going? I am thinking he was hoping I would leap into his arms and give him an endearing kiss for his wonderful unexpected surprise. I wonder what was going through his mind as he waited for me to finish dressing.

I shout from the bathroom, FREAKING OUT, trying to hide my uneasiness and nervousness.

"What the heck are you doing here?"

He said, "Oh I was just in the neighborhood and thought I would swing by".

"Liar!"

I can hear him chuckle from the room. Gosh, I love the way he laughs!
He asked if I had any plans and I replied devilishly, "Well, as a matter of fact, I do!, I'm getting ready for another NCMO"
Silence from the other room. Oopsy, homey don't like that game!
He suggested I cancel them since he came all this way just to see my gorgeousness! Awe, the way to melt this heart quickly is flatter me unjustly. I quickly call the girls who I always eat with and let them know I have a change in plans. This didn't go over so well but at that moment I didn't care. Dinner was a standing commitment and one of my roommates Rachel, wasn't too fond of Mr. Handsome. She liked him but she wasn't sure of him. She watched me return from Winter break reclused and a bit depressed from not being with Mr. Blue Eyes to going out and having fun only to see me fall quickly for someone I had only known a week. She was a good friend and sounding board but mostly she didn't like that he was occupying my time. ...da dot dum...

I quickly finished getting ready and we went out to this place where he used to work before his mission, The Sizzler. I uncomfortably ordered dinner. I absolutely hate it when someone pays for me. I feel indebted. (Not drop your pants indebted)(that was meant to be humorous but depending on your background...I'm just sayin...) My parents never allowed others to pay, they would always pay. Mr. Blue Eyes and I dated enough that I was comfortable with him paying because he had two jobs and I also knew that we were an item, and I would be able to treat also. Mr. Handsome insisted on paying and this made me feel like I was wearing a wool sweater in the middle of July. So, to say I was uncomfortable was a serious understatment.  It was like he was unevening the playing grounds. " Thanks for dinner", I stammered then silence. I'm sure he was thinking what the heck? This girl is hot one moment and cold the next!

Mr. Handsome broke the awkward silence with what do you want to do? I don't know I hadn't planned ongoing on a date much less deciding what we would do for this date! This was work out night, if we weren't dancing we were in the gym. (maybe, that is why I stayed so slim. I was running and working out always) I was athletically built in High School but not having a car at college and this new routine brought my stealth frame to a slender comfortable 6 and fit size 4. I took a health and fitness class and we did a body fat measurement, in the water, which is the most accurate. I had 7% body fat! I wasn't skinny like twiggy. I was just athletic, in fact I weighed 140 pounds. Now wrap your head around that number and those sizes? See what muscle does for a body?(I should have reveled those days but it is true. You never truly enjoy what you have until its gone). I still felt I was fat and constantly strived for 120 pounds. 130 pounds was where my body would stay and that was difficult, my frame liked the extra 10.

Now, Mr. Handsome and I are sitting in awkwardness and not quite sure what to do, this isn't going the greatest for me. I am now uncomfortable twice on our date. One more and I'm out of here and I'm pulling out the sick card. I am the most awkward person when it comes to awkward situations. I magnify them and it is so painful for me that my sweat glands become overactive and start spewing from every pore!

So... Did I pull the sick card out or did Mr. Handsome save the date?

Deliciously Dirty 5

Now, Mr. Handsome and I are sitting in awkwardness and not quite sure what to do, this isn't going the greatest for me. I am now uncomfortable twice on our date. One more and I'm out of here and I'm pulling out the sick card. So... Did I pull the sick card out or did Mr. Handsome make it happen?

This is my 5th series of Deliciously Dirty, my little love story . If  you are following our love story just click on the previous posts to the left!

We went and saw a movie. Mr. Handsome was so excited and thrilled that it was showing. It was the strangest oddest movie I had ever since in my 19 years. Oh no! My hand is twitching to reach into my pocket to pull out the sick card. The movie was called "Fletch Lives" and Mr. Handsome loved it! He laughed at everything most heartedly. He had obviously seen it many times and I never.  It was also my first experience with someone quoting a movie out loud and laughing prior to the joke. I keep looking around me at all the other people sitting in this theater watching their reactions. They too are laughing hysterically. Am I the only prude, am I the only one who doesn't appreciate Chevy Chase humor? Mr. Handsome was clueless to the fact that the movie was boring me to me. I was laughing at him and his outbursts. He was like a child in a candy store lapping up every scene with such an insatiable appetite. I found him humorous and delightful to watch. I enjoyed listening to his audible unhindered chackle. A chuckle and a hackle mix. He thought I was laughing at the movie.

Throughout the movie he would reach for my hand which was always readily available to be held. He would bring my hand over to his lap and the two of our hands would rest on top of his knee as if there was an invisible mold that cradled our hands. Occassionally, he would caress my back and play with my hair some. I'm not much for hair playing it slighly annoyed me and I playfully leaned forward and took a drink, hoping that I wouldn't offend.
The movie ended and I breathed a huge sigh of relief! YES! now we both can truly fun. Mr. Handsome grabbed my hand and helped me with my jacket and escorted me out to his car. He asked me if I liked the movie. I said, not as much as I enjoyed watching you like the movie. He was taken back at my response. He had the look of disappointment riddled across his face. It was hard for him to hide such raw emotion and it caught me by surprise. He was jilted. He wanted me to enjoy it as much as he had. I had not realized how much my happiness meant to him and how much he wanted to please me.  (But to this day, I still struggle to like Chevy Chase and his humor). This moment and that feeling had made a lasting impression on me. I wanted him to always feel success with anything that he did for me or planned for me, that I would express my gratitude first.

Mr. Handsome always opened my door for me. I was accostomed to this because Mr. Blue Eyes would always open every door for me as well. EXCEPT, Mr. Blue Eyes would adorn me with compliments.  Mr. Blue Eyes would say, "After you Beautiful" or "For you my love", it would always send a rush of blood straight to my cheeks. I loved it, I thought it was special only to me, until I heard it escape his lips to others and I realized it wasn't just for me, it was a part of who he was.

I liked Mr. Handsome's mannerisms. I liked his ability to laugh at himself and to laugh! I liked his carefree sense and I liked that he wasn't worried if others thought he was laughing too loudly. I always worried too much of what others thought. His strong sense of self and confidence calmed the twitching hand that had been twitching earlier for the sick card.  Mr. Handsome has a silent sense of strength that shouts I am capable of anything you wish of me. I was wondering what Mr. Handsome was doing back in my neck of the woods so very far from his own.

I didn't feel that Mr. Handsome was thinking long term or anything with me. I felt that he had nothing better going on in Provo and would come visit his friend again. Seeing me was just an added benefit. Our night over all was ok and fun but I didn't get any lip smacken! The movie was over and I had 15 minutes to get back to the dorms before curfew! Yep, living in the dorms on school campus has a curfew. Gosh, if I come in late my dorm mom is waiting in the main entrance gathering room with a sign in sheet! Dang, she had the ability to make you feel like a heathen and let me tell you 15 minutes isn't worth feeling that. So, I had two choices. Meet the wrath of Dorm mom or miss curfew and wait until she goes to bed.

What would my decision be?

Coach Incredible and Dash tackles in the end zone

This is Dash's first year that we have allowed him to play football. To say he was ecstatic would be a gross understatement. Of course, Mr. Incredible is right out there coaching. It is a title that he carries as naturally as that of Dad. He is a great coach. One of my prime griefs with city league teams and coaches are at least half are only out there to make their sons or daughters the next Mia Ham, Michael Jordan, Babe Ruth, or Brett Favre. They live their dreams through a field filled with 5 year olds to 14yr. olds. Volunteer dads who are concerned with not teaching the skills of the game but ensuring their child is the star of the game!

My priority for a good coach is one who plays the team to their fullest potential. A person who can make each person better. Not to your level of Best but to Johnny's level of best. I watched a boy on our baseball team never hit a ball, close his eyes each time he was up to bat but through consistent coaching and pushing and prodding and some frustration that boy finally hit the ball. Pop warner isn't all about the win but its about making these kids their best. Mr. Incredible coaches in this manner. Unsurprisingly, this manner of coaching also brings on WINS! so, it's a win win situation. It is also easy to say these things because Dash is a natural at sports and he is naturally good. No mommy goggles, I promise! well.... No, he's good.

Dash solo tackled the QB in our end zone for the safety to win 16-14 with 40 seconds left on the clock! The fans were in an uproar. I was too. A dad said, in all his years he has never seen a game one on a safety! Yep, that's my boy! It has been so fun to watch him play this year! His comprehension of the game is phenomonal for a boy his age. It should be since he has been on the field since he was a year old watching his brother play and his dad coach.  Dash plays defense. They don't rotate kids to play both sides of the ball. I feel they should. They are 10yrs. old. I feel that the kids should know both sides of the field. But, hey, I'm just a mom! ( a mom who knows) Dash was on kick off return and he caught the ball and ran the ball 65 yards for a touch down! He loved it. I did too. I was so happy for him!
Here is my picture gallery for his season! He's amazing and I'm so glad I could capture a few of his shining moments!
RUN FOREST RUN!

Making the break away!

TOUCH DOWN!!!!

A congrats from his team mates and a congrats from his Coach!

Some highlights of his year! I would have had many more pics but Dash and one of his best friends played on the same team this year and his dad and Mr. Incredible coached together, how does that relate to me, the picture taker? Well, Dash's friend's mom is also one of my Bestie's and we ended up spending WAAy too much time talking and cheering. It prevented me from using my clicker finger. I'll try better next year!
SAY GOOD NIGHT

This QB saw nothing but Dash most of the game!

GOTCHA, one thing about Dash, he's like a spider! he never lets go!

 GOTCHA again!

Solo Tackle!

I always have a great time watching my children play and do things they love to do! I love you Dash! I love how you play your hardest and give your all! I love how you don't stop until the whistle is blown. I love you no matter what you do. You always make me and your dad proud and you don't even have to try! You have such a big heart and are growing into a fine young man! I love you to the moon and back and you will always be my little boy!
