Our Porch Part 2

Mr. Incredible accomplished our front porch and I have to admit he did a great job! We have had many memories and stories to tell but the porch is standing and looks incredible. Here is our porch story part 1.

Everyone had to go out and prime the wood! What a fiasco. The younger two were very enthusiastic but their enthusiasm died just as soon as their painting began to feel like work. Dash he was out of there after the first 3 dips of his paint brush into the pan. This is what he chose to do instead!

Next up is Sweetheart! She hung in there longer than Dash but she quickly fled the scene as well! Thank you Sweetheart for the work you did do.

Warrior and Beauty endured painting the porch until the very end. It was a great way to spend a Saturday! They were a bit on the sloppy side but I can't be too picky when dealing with free help.

I must confess that I am a much better painter under controlled temps, like an air conditioner where the temperature ranges around 72 degrees. They can have all of that outdoor work. I'll paint the walls on the inside. Thank you!
It was only time before someone was going to loose concentration and get bored! What else do you do when you are bored and holding a paint brush?? You begin to play.

Beauty decided to turn her play adventures my way and she soon found out she was not prepared! She thought she would wrap her arms around my legs and paint them including my feet.

I could not move at all. She and Sweetheart had me pinned. So, I grabbed her hair and decided to use it as a paint brush! Did you know that human hair makes a wonderful paint brush?? It does!

When it was time to put the final coat of paint on Mr. Incredible purchased another power tool! ::swoons:: Ok, I'm back!
It was a paint sprayer! It definitely lays out a nice even coat! It looks great!
Just a minor word of caution: Do not use a paint sprayer outside on a windy day!
You will look like CASPER the ghost and you may have overspray on a few things! I'm just saying...

He built it with power tools.....

The new day brought a beautiful sunrise and very warm temperatures and with the sun and its beautiful rays it washed out the gloom and doom and brought in hope and happiness.

Mr. Incredible was very capable of pushing the wheel while I rested. I love how he is strong mentally, physically and spiritually. It was his spiritual strengths that I relied on the most and needed the other day.

I have to thank you all for the kind words of love and support! I'm so much better. I spent the last two days bathing in the light of the scriptures. My cup is full and I am now able to share myself with my family and others.

Mr. Incredible got right to work on the porch! While I was chillaxin I heard the sound of power tools being used and it sent my heart a fluttering.
see this do dad thingy, below? It powers the nail gun! SHWEET!
My heart was already a fluttering but I have to warn you about the next few images! When I looked out the window and saw this it liked to make my SKIRT FLY up! "Lawdy mercy, be still my heart!" SCRUMPTIOUS! oooooooooohhhh, AHhhhhhhhhhhh

I just love my skilled man! I think I may have to buy him a tool belt!

What a great job you did, honey!
He then needed to caulk every nook and cranny.

I like when he works so seriously. This is when I like to destract him. (just because I can) Notice his mouth slightly ajar and his tongue out to the side! Two signs that he is working way too hard! I think he needs to take a breather.

I asked him a leader question.........

Then I asked him something mildy inappropriate.
HUH??!, OHHHh...

AND
This is what happened to his nail gun,

and the rest of his tools

and we spent the rest of the afternoon admiring his handy work from our bedroom window! ::sigh::

Snow in NC, and Mr. Incredible builds...

Finally, a good reason to cancel school. We received 6 inches of snow and the children were elated. I would have more snow pictures but my darling punks thought it would be fun to throw snowballs at the camera woman! I wasn't down with that. They played out in the snow til well after midnight probably closer to 1am! The other neighborhood children were out as well! Snow like this rarely falls in NC, so we try to take advantage of it when we can.

There is something about Mr. Incredible working with power tools that just gets my heart all a flutter and raises my body temperature! He looks so sexy measuring so carefully and meticulously.

See that cup, it's filled with hot chocolate! Nothin' says lovin' like a cup of hot chocolate on a very cold day! I brought it to him because he's my main squeeze and I like to keep him happy. Because when Mr. Incredible is happy and working with power tools it means that my porch will begin to resemble a porch very quickly.
Keep up the good work honey! I know you can do it.

And just in case..... we have Aaron to make sure everything goes well, this time!
