Christmas 2008

Merry Christmas! Our family is traveling bright and early on Christmas morning. We will be travelling to NY to visit my parents. This year is one of the rare years that we have the opportunity to stay in our home and enjoy Christmas. WE have been married almost 20 years and have only spent Christmas home 3 times. Once in Texas, once in Utah and once in NC!

WE chose to open our presents from each other early. Everyone exchanged 2 gifts each so each of them opened 12 gifts, with 6 people in the household that left very little floor space. It has been so fun doing it this way. WE did have to exchange a few things that didn't fit quite right but there was not the hassle of long lines etc. Our household has been truly enjoying the pure spirit of Christmas now that all the frivolous things are taken care of. Some of our highlight gifts:

Despite the fact I had to get things done and wrapped ahead of time. It was better. I am definitely entertaining the thought of spending Christmas 2009 in a cabin in the mountains or on a cruise with everyone. It will be Warrior's last Christmas before his mission.

I am currently listening to the sounds of Dash playing with 2 of his friends in the bonus room ROCKIN' out with Rockband and Warrior rattling the entire neighborhood with new speakers and amp. My windows are rattling. I am sure our neighbors just LOVE him!! I will never understand boys and their need to go deaf! Beauty and Mr. Incredible are really good at Guitar.

Beauty received her laptop from HP. They replaced it with a brand new one and an upgrade! Gotta love that warranty. A warranty that actually paid off!

The only gift that Sweetheart asked for was a GREEN laptop and a shuffle. Well, that lap top is pretty pricey. She didn't expect to see this and it was a very touching moment when she opened her gift and realized what it was. She cried.

And then we all had to try out the electric razors that go 15mph and are rated up to 220lbs! NOOO, I do not weigh 220 so of course I got on it, too!

These were just a few items on my Christmas trays this year.

I had a few more but they were left out on top of the stove and my dog ate an entire pan of lemon bars among others. For recipes please click here.
From our family to yours we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year may your house be warm, your belly's full and you be surrounded by those you love.
