Beautiful Horses

I can't get any more pictures to load. I have tried for 3 days and it makes me feel like a grizzly!

He rides him so well. Granted Sunny is an amazing horse and is older. I believe he did some work as a therapy horse for special needs children.
It is always so surprising to me to see Dash interact with these creatures. I had no idea that he would be so nurturing, caring and good. He is a hyper high strung extremely active boy. I love to see him out there. Sunny was just waiting for him to climb on and sit on him. Eventually, they decided to ride a little.

Even though Sweetheart is allergic to the horses, she too can not resist being near them or giving them a treat. She regrets it after as her eyes begin to water and swell and her body itches as if she has a wool sweater on but sometimes you just have to follow your heart.

A jellybean mastiff

My English Mastiff believes he is a horse. When we first arrived on the property he was in Dog Heaven. He had land to run on and he too finally had some friends his own size that weren't afraid of him. He tried and tried to give them the old "WHO ARE YOU SNIFF" but he just couldn't get his nose to reach. One of these days he's going to land himself a big hoof, right in the kisser.

He tried to play cat and mouse with them.

They wouldn't give him the time of day. He tried and tried to get them to play with him but all they would do is eat their hay. So, he gave it a go!

What's the big deal over eating this straw? fogettabout it! I'm through!

Actually, this is a picture of Kekoa pouting. He doesn't understand what the big deal is over these four legged large creatures. He's getting to be quite the jelly bean and Easter is still days away!
Why is the entire family out petting these things?

Why is SHE brushing him, when SHE never brushes me??

why is HE feeding this thing? He doesn't feed me!

Why is he whispering sweet nothings into his ear?

WHAT ABOUT ME???

Dear pet, the grass always looks greener on the other side! You receive countless treats and get to sleep inside, let alone on the bed most nights! Life isn't that hard!

A cowboy at heart

It has taken some time adjusting for all of us, EXCEPT for Dash! He's amazing how he just goes with the flow. He entertains himself. I had worried about him because he has always had many neighborhood children to play with. He was never inside! Here if he opens the front door he is greeted by the warm morning sun, and a slightly crisp breeze.

If he opens the back door he is greeted by the aroma of fresh air with a hint of hay and horse manure. NICE!

The property was left with two horses. Actually, the owner left for Hawaii immediately after our occupancy and we said they could stay until she could make arrangements. The way our moving package works is they will pay for a year+ housing. We do not receive a CASH imbursement. Mr. Incredible's work pays the mortgage directly. This is why it was crucial for us to find a home where we could purchase at the end of our agreement. If we had bought immediately we would have lost that year of "free" mortgage.

Please meet Dash's newest best friends.
CARSON, who is 6 years old

Carson, is a big baby. If Sunny is out of sight. Carson goes to making a rucus. He is also a bit more spirited and can get spooked easily. Carson, requires an experienced rider, until he gets a bit older and learns some manners.

and his most beloved Sunny, who is a Tennessee Walker!

Check Dash out riding BAREBACK!, Sunny has never bucked Dash off but Dash has fallen many many times off of Sunny. He has landed in some great fertile ground. It doesn't stop him. He gets right back up and gets on again. I hope he learns life lessons from this. He has a riding helmet. Which is now a requirement, since he wants to go FASTER and if he goes faster a SADDLE will have to be used as well.

CHECK out his friend holding on for DEAR LIFE!

I have not found anything that doesn't come easily to Dash. He's quite amazing. However, I think doing chores is one area he may struggle in. I mean... I'm just sayin..
Sunny always looks forward to Dash going out to feed him each morning and each night. He is 19 years old. He is so gentle and will even try to assist Dash by using his head to help Dash mount him.

I just LOVE this picture!! Sunny is "kissing" or licking Dash's head! PRICELESS!

Cue music: Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be Cowboys, let them be doctors and lawyers and such. Actually, I think I like my little rugged man!
