Dash, he is simply amazing. Things seem to come easily to him. If he wants to do it, he does. I believe he has no idea what it is like to struggle in areas because its a gift given to him. His struggle comes in areas as patience, perfection, etc. A year ago we watched Dash participate in his first race. It was fun and exhilarating. There are advantages to being a part of a smaller school district. Our school district in Charlotte, Mecklenburg schools was so huge that they cut back on programs such as track, music, etc.

We got to watch Dash participate in his first strings concert. He plays the violin and he plays really well and never practices. He learns it once and has it. It isn't a big deal to him. He can watch something on youtube and do it. If he wanted to play competitively I believe he could and would be great at it. But he lacks desire for it, so he just plays. In our school district Music is completely funded and free. Each fourth grader is provider a violin to play and the 5th graders are able to choose, violin, viola or cello! The fourth graders learn strictly suzuki style and then in 5th grade they are taught to read music and learn notes and measures. It was quite a nice concert. I have to make things a competition or a game for him. I suggested he practice a peice that he could play at church. He tinkers on the piano as well. (If I could tinker half as well as he can, I would be taking lessons). He wouldn't let me take any pictures after!
