Goodness from April 2015

What a fun filled Bunny Month we have had! Mr. Incredible are enjoying this stage of our lives. We are able to go out with one another and sneak moments of the day away with each other! We often will go for lunch or out to dinner just the two of us! We do much of our shopping with each other! It has been a great blessing having him work from home and I am enjoying it. In the beginning, he may have stepped on my toes, territory etc. Only because I have always been the one at home, the main care taker, the chauffeur, chef etc and he has done that for quite a while.  Balance shifted when unemployment came. I think he looked for places where he could help out more.  Now that he has a career that allows him the luxury to work from home he does practically EVERYTHING! I used to complain now I just am grateful and sit back and enjoy the comforts! He truly is an amazing man! He cooks, cleans, tends to kids, brings home the bacon, chauffeurs, coaches, YM president, smart, and leads his family in the gospel! I do feel for my daughters as they look for a spouse who will fill their daddy's shoes! They should look for someone who will love, adore and care for them and qualities as their dad! I am sure their are righteous moms and dads rearing amazing young men!

I thought I was over having to color eggs and get that mess out!! NO we still carried on all traditions! I did this to myself! Woman of thousands of holiday traditions and creating memories!

Our baby girl Nala always has the neighborhood children coming over asking for her to come out and play! She adores children when she is feeling well.  Nala can no longer tolerate going to puppy classes because all of the larger breed dogs hit her back legs during play time or jump on her and she gets grouchy.  They didn't NOT ask us to come back but I got the message! Nala, is an amazing dog. She comes with her challenges only because of her back hips and her inverted lady parts. It lends her to having her leg constantly come out of socket, which is always painful until we can pop it back in place and it lends for constantly needing to be let out for the bathroom, as well, as urinary tract infections! She potty trained in 2 days! She is a quick learner and goes immediately to the door to be let out! She also has a cherry eye and that is common in her breed. My favorite thing about her is her beautiful silver blue gray coat! She is simply gorgeous.

This boy ran track and did amazing! It is always fun to watch him in anything he decides to do.  Anyways he broke a school record and conference record in their relay.

We also got to celebrate this big boys birthday!!! Another year older! He is kind and gentle and a hard worker! He is a married young man going to college and working and doing what it takes to get by! Warrior has such an amazing heart and is a pleaser!

If anyone knows this stance of Mr. Incredible, you know it means you might want to leave or you are about to hear a list of factual information that will lead you to giving this man everything he asks for and more! He knows customer service and he knows how he should be treated and what is the solution to making a happy customer. He rarely loses his temper. Key to successfully getting compensated for inconvenience or things that you have no control over is to remain calm
state the fact, over and over if needs be, be clear on compensation, state the problem, basically remind them it is no fault of your own. I do not know anyone who can walk away satisfied 95% of the time, other than this man! I truly wish I had this talent and gift. I just basically bend over and then apologize to them for them treating me so badly and they deliver it with a smile.  I mean, I do know when I am getting taken. I will make one vague comment and EXPECT them to do what is right, but we all KNOW there are few people who step up to making something right, so you need people like Mr. Incredible who will force the issue, stand up for themselves, and stay firm.  I love that about him. I wish wish wish I could cultivate that talent in myself.

Lastly, this little girl loves to get on this furniture and it drives me insane because I will see her little gray hairs on the cushions! But, who can stay upset at this cute girl! The look on her face in the last picture is like really! She is listening to me only because I am right in front of her.  She is basically saying, "Are you finished now?" I know the same look.  I get this when I speak to my children too!

10 April 2009

Let's GET IT ON!

I absolutely positively adore PEANUT BUTTER and when it collides with CHOCOLATE it just sings music to my soul and to my bones!

There is only one other who can give me the same titillation as chocolate and peanut butter.
I'm just sayin.....

SILLY STRING FIGHT

No one truly knew how much fun this activity would entail. WE all gathered in a tight circle and took 3 small steps out and on the count of THREE we turned and BLASTED!

Sweetheart!!! Oh no, a double spray to the Head!!

Along with our Easter EGG HUNT We decided to add to our Easter Tradition a SILLY STRING FIGHT! It was so much fun that the children have all asked to add this tradition to EVERY HOLIDAY We do. I am still thinking about that one. I was reading about Easter traditions and celebrations and came across one who shared about having a silly string fight one Easter. Their mom had died or something shortly after, and they never had a string fight again but it was one of her fondest memories. I thought we would try it this year and I am so glad we did! The neighborhood rang with the shrills and squeals of my family enjoying one another.
Each of us had 2 cans and we went at it! It was A TON OF FUN!!!! Please try this or incorporate it into your holiday as a tradition! Look at all the great pictures. Can you feel the excitement??? I continue to build memories for my children. I hope they remember me and carry them on in their own families. Time is so short, these days.

CONFETTI EGGS

ALONG with the string we did confetti eggs. Many many moons ago when we lived in Fort Worth and attended that ward. I served in the YW's presidency under a spanish YW's president. She was an older sister and a fairly new convert but she was so much fun! I loved her and learned so much from her. Confetti eggs was one of them. Warrior when he was 3 loved this. It is rare that we get to spend Easter in our home. The last time we spent Easter in our home was 5 years ago! I would like to make it a tradition that we don't travel for Easter, unless we go someplace WARM! I can not express how great this weekend has been and how many speical memories were created. The chitlings said, they loved this year, the BEST!.
We were able to take things at a slower pace and were not rushed or hurried to do anything. Having school out for 2 days after helped, too.
THE FUN!

FUN FUN FUN
Beauty had only seen these eggs once before, when she was a little girl. WALMART now sells these eggs. I had to make them the previous years by decorating them, blowing them out, and buying confetti and stuffing the egss and then adding tissue paper to ensure the confetti stayed in. They are much much cheaper if you make them yourself. I think for a dozen they were over $4 maybe $5.
SO SO SO SO SO SOooooo much fun!! I have decided to put to rest my fears about the children getting older and the holidays not being as fun for them. You create the memories you want them to remember!

Resurrection Rolls

Give each child a triangle of crescent rolls. The crescent roll represents the cloth that Jesus was wrapped in.
Read Matthew 27:57-61

1. Give each child a marshmallow. This represents Jesus.

2. Have him/her dip the marshmallow in melted butter. This represents the oils of embalming.

3. Now dip the buttered marshmallow in the cinnamon and sugar which represents the spices used to anoint the body.

4. Then wrap up the coated marshmallow tightly in the crescent roll (not like a typical crescent roll up, but bring the sides up and seal the marshmallow inside.) This represents the wrapping of Jesus’ body after death.
5. Place in a 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes. (The oven represents the tomb - pretend like it was three days!)
