Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Dash, is a perfectionist. He pushes himself to perform at his best always and accepts nothing else from others. He is quite agile and good at everything he tries. He is a natural born athlete. The boy is F A S T ! He is fast on the field and fast in school.

Baseball, baseball baseball, is the world that my little boy knows. He eats, sleeps and dreams about baseball. He is a natural. He has the sweetest swing ever. Last Season was his first time to play t-ball and he took to it like a fish does to water. He became quite confident in his abilities and other parents on the team seemed to foster his already growing 5 yr old ego. He hit at least 3 homeruns every game. Winning was all he knew.
Then dad, decided that Dash should not play t-ball this season and should move on to coach pitch. This was definitely a whole new game and he is playing with much older boys. He struggled a bit finding his groove. But, I have never seen anyone so hard on himself and so determined to push himself until he gets it. He struggled a bit with batting and accuracy of his throws. His heart just sank the first time he struck out at plate. I hurt for him, too. But, everyone gets out and it is just part of the small disappointments that come with playing. Every week we play and if the challenge team coach is out there, he always asks Mr. Incredible, what he can do to get Dash out there on his team. UMMmmmmmm..... make it so that challenge team doesn't play every game on Sunday's or practice? I would love him to be on the challenge team. I think they learn and mature so much faster in the sport. But, attending church and keeping the Sabbath is more important and I know he won't be penalized for it.
Dash, faithfully keeps up with the stats of his team and all the teams in his league. Fortunately, he is on an undefeated team. Because of his, incessant time at looking at stats on the computer I am pretty proficient at knowing what teams will be a challenge for us and where each team stands on wins and losses. His team has won 10 out of 10.

When Dash arrives home from school. He always has fun on the mind. He will come in drop all of his things on the floor and say, "HI MOM, and then dash out for play. I usually call him back to pick his things up, put them away, change his clothes and finally ask him how his day was and give him a big bear hug!
