OK, before you read any further. I have to warn you that you will either KILL me or have already died and gone to heaven and back! These are THAT GOOD!!! I mean they are so good it may replace having children or even practicing! Cynthia, I think you will just LOVE these. OK, so I got this recipe from my niece JeNece who got this recipe from yours truly the one and only PAULA DEEN!!! I went and googled the recipe and here it is and I am going to share it with you! In hopes that you too, will gain weight and then I will be skinny again. LOL, you know if it were not for skinny people I wouldn't be fat. Maybe if everybody else were bigger than I, I would be the skinny one. Ummm,,, haven't thought about that, have you?? so stop your foolish dieting and get to baking these. It looks like you put something chocolate on those bars, but there is no mention of it in the recipe????
Okay. THe best part of this recipe is that is says that it serves 6-8. THank you. I am so tired of recipes that you make in a tiny 8 by 8 pan and then they say cut into 1 inch squares. Makes 978 servings!!!! ARGhhhh.
Anyway, I just went to her site to look at the recipe and the chocolate thing is obviously your addition.
I need to make these tonight. I really need to. It has been a long time since I have had a good sweet. HOURS! Last night Ella nad I made a lemon Meringue Pie. I need more dessert!!!
My neice used choc chips, however I did not want to open a bag. I used those delicious candy chocolates from wilton for melting. They were awesome. If you google Paula Deen desserts you will see that Gooey Cake actually has many other add ins and recipes. there is one done with a chocolate cake mix.
I want these... like... NOW. However, since I am trying very hard to not have to up my dosage of insulin shots, I better not. *cries*
I made these today. The kids and I devoured the pan when they got home from school.
THey are magnificent.
Around these parts I think they would be called Chess Pie Squares.
The sad part is we made them again tonight as well! At least we still have some left. Make them again, I bet they don't get eaten as fast as they did the first time. Aden absolutely LOVES these things and they are so easy to make.
If we are snowed in tomorrow I will be making them for the family. They look delicious!
