****THANKFUL THURSDAY****

I have really enjoyed reading my nephews letters from being out in the mission field. He is serving in Ghana. The field is ripe and ready for harvesting. I just recently read his latest letter that he sent and he and his words have made me so thankful. Thankful for the gospel and thankful that he lived worthily and is so willing to serve the Lord. He is being blessed. WE as a family enjoy reading of his experiences. He had said that words were coming out of his mouth and amazing him.

I know that if you put forth the effort, you study hard, you learn, you are faithful and dilligent that Heavenly Father will bring back to your mind all of the things that you have learned and your mind will be clear and your tongue loosed. I love the example that he has set for his cousins. They are watching him and loving the experiences that he is going through.

From before our children could even speak we always have spoken of serving a mission. We would have missionaries over to our house for dinners. Our children know of missionary work and the great blessings that come from it. They know how the missionaries came and taught their great great grandparents and their great grandparents. They have been taught from a very young age. Heavenly Father will not penalize you if you serve him. Other opportunities will be presented. They hear the stories of their father's mission, we he served in Australia. He is married to me because of his mission. Bill being raised in a good ol' southern home would have never married a "polynesian". Bill served in Australia and served 9 months samoan speaking. He learned to love the people, the language and the culture. Our eternal family is here because of the mission that he served.

A mission should be served by every worthy young man. It is something that you can never get back or replace. It is something that will continue to bless you throughout your entire life. In your relationships, in the business world, in your community and in your service with the church. WE all know that it isn't just serving a mission but it boils down to loving the Lord more and setting aside our personal desires. Being selfless and not selfish.

I am thankful for Zach. I can tell that he is really enjoying his mission. I am so happy for him. He has grown so much in the short time that he has been on his mission. He left a boy and I can see him turning into a man. WE love you Zach.

I love reading stories from Matthew Cowley's mission and from Elder Groberg. I love Polynesians too, but not from serving a mission. I grew up among many polynesians in San Diego. And, my favorite mission companion was my comp from Samoa/Hawaii...boy, did we have fun. And, we had much success too.

My hubby was my DL and so our eternal family was also brought about by missionary work!

I guess you could say that every eternal family is formed because of some type of missionary work some time somewhere.

I love this photo...what a tremendous experience to serve in Ghana!! I am jealous. I have heard that the Saints over there are just AMAZING!

I also can't wait to serve a mission with my man. Our missions definitely gave us a great foundation for the rest of our lives.

No sons to serve, but I would be delighted if any of my girls choose to serve.
