Grandma Dunk

My dad and his mom

My grandmother is 91 years old and has been a widow since 1991. She keeps an immaculate home and does everything for herself. A few years ago she fell on stairs so she tries to avoid them at all costs. She walks the cane. She does not need it but she uses it for security. Pretty much how Pres. Hinckley used his. I call her weekly just to chat.

My niece and her grandma dunk
She lovingly earned the nickname Grandma dunk from my niece. Grandma always always has cookies, milk and bubble gum readily available. It has been this way since I was little and now my children. Warrior's favorite cookies are pecan sandies because of Grandma dunk. For decades and now generations children have been crossing the fields to walk to Grandma's house for milk, cookies and some good ole' fashion loving.

My children with great grandma
My grandmother has the wonderful ability to make whomever she is talking to like they are the most important person in the world. She lifts you up. Her love is pure and true that it breaks all barriers of jealousy and competition. She is even steven. She never forgets a birthday and her family has grown quite a lot. I am so grateful that all of my children know her and love her.

I love her spunk and her the way she says things when she talks about movie stars or tv people. She loves music and she loves American Idol. She even watches American Idol re-runs. She likes all of the tv shows I like, one of our favorites being King of Queens. One of my favorite sounds is the sound of her laughter.

These are my nieces and nephews with my children and Great Grandma Dunk

Beautiful family you have. I love how your neice nicknamed her Dunk. So clever. She seems like a perfect example of how to live and be.

Glad that you introduced her to us all. Thanks Mother Goose.

What a fun grandma!! I love that she is an American Idol fan and has earned her nickname through constant cookie supplies - this is the type of grandma I want to be!

Sitsta friend, never never would you feel out of place in our ward, sorry you felt that way, there was a white family who came up with us, and right away, that night the dad got up and was shedding tears that he could feel more fit it, and wished he lived closer to come to our ward. We truley have a special ward..

THANKS a lot for making me cry..I mean this a really good, head shaking cry...there is nothing better than to be a woman l ike Grandma Dunk. Women like her are the epitomy of virtue and honor.

I want to be just like her when I grow up. I started out by always keeping candy on hand now for any little visitors that come over:)
