SPT Grass shots anyone??

***I just found out what SPT means. Self portrait Tuesday. Well, I already broke the rules. A, sure isn't me. But, I wish it could be so*** I promise I will give a self portrait next TUESDAY!****

Ok, its not alcohol, you bunch of lushes! I wonder how many people will come to my blog just because they googled shots. I found this blog because I went to JenH's blog and she was participating in this PHOTOGRAPHY CHALLENGE! Well, everyone who knows me knows I am always up for a CHALLENGE! It made my retired hula hips start shaking in my chair. I knew I had to go and capture me some rockin' grass shots. Well, I don't know about rockin' but I got me some grass shots.

I first had to roll my fluffy self out of bed at 6:45am and find me a subject who would be willing to pose at such an indecent hour. A! She loves to get up early. (There is something seriously wrong with her, but I am sure she is forgiven because she is so beautiful! I met her at 7:15am and she had her game face on. I had to wrestle with the steering wheel of my car to head in the opposite direction of Starbucks. Most early mornings the only reason why that vehicle leaves the driveway is to get a french vanilla hot chocolate or a Strawberry frappucino. But, those addictions are for another day.
I am addicted to my blog. I need a 12 step program!

Thanks so much A for meeting.

LOL at the people that might stumble on to your blog - is there such a thing as a digital pass along card you could give them? =)

I didn't know that you were in therapy for talking to yourself.

Teri said...

I'm in therapy for talking to myself too. It's a really bad habit.

Teri said...

Just kidding, I don't want anyone to think that you are really in therapy, you already cleared all that up.

Teri said...

I will gladly be your therapist.

Teri said...

We all have to be good for something right?

Teri said...

Hey, what did you do today besides wake up freaking early and not go to starbucks for your strawberry frap?

Teri said...

I think that I may have to try one of those one of these days.

Teri said...

I'm too cheap though.

Teri said...

I guess I'm more frugal than cheap.

Are you checking the quote of the day on Stephenie Meyer's website?

Teri said...

They are so much fun, I can't wait.

Teri said...

Didn't you say that you were planning on going to a book release party on the first?

Teri said...

I just go and wait in line at WalMart. I don't love walmart but I can get in and out of there fast.

Teri said...

It is 1 am.

Teri said...

Why am I still awake?

Teri said...

Sometimes it's a problem, especially when my baby wakes up early.

Teri said...

Sean should be home soon.

Teri said...

Why did you decide to go incognito on your blog?

Teri said...

Maybe I should too.

Teri said...

Do you remember when I put a picture of my family up on the yahoo group picture thingy and Sean didn't want me to put pictures of us on the internet? Look at me now. hahaha

When you come over, don't look to close at that carpet you think is clean. It has a few clean spots because of my little green clean machine.

We only allow Connor to play with disposable toys, and small ones at that, hence the little water balloon blown up. Have you tried to blow those up by the way? Sean has to do it. He used to play the trumpet, those lips... oh don't get me started. Is it getting hot in here?

What size was it for that t shirt??? ROFL, You always make me laugh. Thank you friend!

Thanks so much for all the lovely comments! I'm going to paste the shrimp recipe, it's from Tyler's Ultimate cookbook...

16 large head-on jumbo shrimp in the shell, shells split down the back
2 lemons
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Pesto:
2 cups fresh basil
1 cup fresh Italian parsley
1/2 cup Parmesan or romano cheese
1/2 cup pine nuts, toasted
4 garlic cloves, roughly chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup olive oil

Put a large grill pan on two burners over medium-high heat or pre-heat an outdoor gas or charcoal grill and get it very hot. If you're using an outdoor grill, take a few paper towels and fold them over several times to make a thick square. Blot a small amount of oil on the paper towel, then carefully and quickly wipe the hot grates of the grill to make a nonstick grilling surface.

Meanwhile, throw the pesto ingredients into a food processor. Puree. Stuff about half of the pesto under the shells of the shrimp (about 1/2 tablespoon per shrimp). Lay the shrimp on the hot grill and cook for 3 minutes on each side, brushing with the remaining pesto a few times as they cook.

To serve, put the shrimp on plates and dot with the remaining pesto. Squeeze the remaining lemon over the shrimp and garnish the plates with basil leaves.

What is this you expect of me? Oh my ocd friend... I'm so not technical like you. Will you fix my crooked picture for me. I need to get some cool software like you have. I better save my pennies. Are you using a mac or pc?

I just love your photography! By the way, have you ever done a photo shoot for your kids Hawaiian Style, with the skirts and all? I want to do some of my kids someday. Hopefully I can learn from your skills!

46...where are these readers coming from?

love the photos...

and just a question for you...Mormons are NOT allowed to drink frappacinos are they?

tiki_lady said...

Oh, I hope you get this comment. Frappucinos are completely 100% caffeine free.
Heck, I know mormons that drink caffeinated soda.

Any how, there are drinks at starbucks that are caffeine free and the strawberry frappucino is to die for. I also like the chocolate chocolate chip one, ok, I just don't care for the chunks of chocolate at the bottom of my drink. TRY ONE!!! You will love it, but first you have to know you will spend $5.
