LEFT OVERS

With Labor day weekend we had a lot of left over food! What shall I do with it! We are gorged and we do not want to look at food any more! All of the links will bring you to our family recipe blog! I hope you enjoy them!
I had A LOT of carrots left over.

My children love carrots but not so much in this quantity. I had this much plus the helpings they ate! I needed to cook both large bags of carrots because the carrots were starting to go bad! (you know the slimy bad) They were not green and did not stink but they were begining to get the slippery feel. My favorite carrot cake recipe included 2 jr baby food carrot jars! I like using cooked carrots because I can puree some but leave it as chunky or textured as I like. This cake is so moist and wonderful! :insert eyes rolling:: I made CARROT CAKE from scratch from cooked carrots.

I made carrot soup Truly, I was a bit unsettled about the thought of making this soup. BUT OH MY OH MY OHHHHHH! Veddy veddy good!

along with carrot muffins! MMmmmm... these were so delish!

Mr. Incredible bought A LOT of corn. Oh how we love corn on the cob! but we had at least 10 ears of corn left over.

So, I decided to make corn fritters!

WE also had steak! We had A LOT of steak left over. At least 4 or 5 steaks left. Of course, we could eat them in their original form but after celebrating and eating and eating some more. We just couldn't bear seeing the same thing in front of us for another meal! I also prepared WAY TOO MANY potatoes for our potato salad. I have not made a remix for this, it will come tomorrow. So, we had Beef Stroganoff.

Oh My! That carrot cake looks to die for. And the muffins. Man- that is just not right. How unfair for you to make such yummy devouring looking treats & I have to sit here and stare at them... Shame - Shame - Shame!!!!!

Do you realize the power of an amazing testimony that you have? Do you realize how much comfort you give to those around you? Do you realize, that you are such a strength to others? Or do you just realize, that you make good carrot cake :) Thanks Goose for your words.

Since you started commenting on my sister's blog (tintletown) I've been checking yours out.

Now I know you're really superwoman.

My carrots would have gone bad, and we'd have eaten the steak cold. And corn fritters? I am so completely impressed I may never be the same again! What a woman!

Like Jan, I have to say you have so much power in your little body! Power for good. I loved your comments on Jan blog. I know I already told you that, but I still do!

And after reading this, I am so hungry, I need to go find some carrots. Is it too late to cook up some cake? M

Yum yum gimme some!!! Did I tell you that you have inspired me to make more of a "big deal" out of meal times? My favorite is when your meals are all color coordinated and you break out the decorations and pretty glasses filled with red liquid...I actually went out and got some pretty glasses and dishes so meal times would just look nicer. i might even start using a centerpiece!! I just bet you are one of those ladies in Relief Society who decorates the table when you are asked to give a lesson....ARE YOU? ARE YOU? I am always amazed by those women who show up with a table cloth, doilies, framed pictures on easels, a big basket full of treats for everyone, or "scrolls" with a nice message inside, or magnets for the frig....you know the ones i'm talking about. i show up to teach a lesson and all i have is my scriptures and the manual. maybe i'll start making more of an effort in that department too. of course i'm the chorister in primary, but i could still being a pretty table cloth or something. oops, sorry- the rambler strikes again!!!

Please have me over for dinner. My Lean Cuisines suddenly look so unappetizing.

I cooked up a big batch of carrots and pureed them for baby food this week. They were so good, she only got every other bite.

I have to completly agree with Jan. You are so good with your words & with sharing your testimony. I was moved by what you said to Jan & Mattie & Nicole's family. You have an amazing talent. I wish I could share my testimony with as much power & stregnth as you & not feel intimdated...
Thanks so much for being you. You are so funny, but yet so spiritual too...

MG. I am so confused. If you would have invited your dear sweet wonderful blogging buddies over for dinner there would NOT have been any food left over to worry about. DUH. Do you need our addresses?
