Anyhoo, one of my biggest worries has been subsided yesterday. WE are now officially Land Lords. I hope the choice that we made will prove to be a good one. They are a young couple, just starting out with a family and have always proven to be clean and have always paid on time. He makes exactly what we made when we first bought our home. They remind me of us in a few ways. Wanting something nicer, young not a lot of references under the belt. We are taking a bit of a chance on them but you know WE NEEDED SOMEONE to take a chance on us too. Everyone needs a break! Another plus, he is in construction has friends who know how to do everything. They are considering a lease to own. WE will evaluate after the year lease is up.
HOUSE RENTED!!

My sister in law Gretchen, introduced me to home refurbishing blogs back in January and I have been hopelessly addicted ever since. I spend countless hours saying, I COULD DO THAT! I want to do THAT!, which feeds into my searching for items that are free through freecycle and items that are a steal on craigslist! HELP I NEED HELP!! Mr. Incredible tells me the area we are moving to doesn't have internet. WHAT? Are you kidding me??? It didn't feel podunk to me, but no internet? WE have to get another service. THIS could cure my internet obsession and really give me the time that I need on all the home projects I want to do.

But, please before you click on this next link. I wish to warn you. You will not be able to stop looking and then your life will change forever. You will thank me or hate me! Prior to my 30ish slightly country stylish home, this site wouldn't have interested me. But, shabby chic which I steared clear from is now making an impression on me.
IF you adore pottery barn or west elm then you will appreciate this link. I'm not a PB addict but I appreciate some things. CLICK RIGHT HERE, but don't forget about me!

My first project for the house is this! If you click on it, it brings you to the plans and it's roughly about $50 for construction! Which brings to mind a late 80's song. $50 to make me holla I get paid to do the wild thing!

HERE ARE THE PLANS
and then I'm going to make this and if it will cost $50! I will definitely be making that and the cost is $120, but let's just say it cost $150 because she had some scrap wood. I guarantee I will be doing the wild thing more than 3x in this baby once constructed so to me, its a WIN WIN WIN kinda thing. I hope Mr. Incredible will consider it a WIN WIN and won't be hollerin' at me, if things go wrong! or... is that if things go South? But, if things go south, is that necessarily bad? KWIM??

I leave you with one more site. This site has me scouring every opportunity to get free furniture! This girl has me looking at old furniture through new eyes! In fact, it is the reason why we are moving so much JUNK to Missouri! So, I can refurbish it!! It's two snaps and around the world, good!
Here's the linky roo for this fab site! CLICK HERE

Beauty wants a black and white room. I'm not so down with that but I will try to accommodate! I'm thinking that I will do this. Again the picture will bring you to the directions.

And instead of spending $50 for pillows I'm going to make my own pillows and shams for free because I have white linen, batting and black material! Using the same wall stencil! WOOT WOOT, two snaps!
However, If I don't get back to packing! I will be cursing myself come the weekend! and I gave up cursing for lent! Well, that and I'm MORMON! Which I have saved the ultimate uuberlicious link for last! You are eternally welcome! Give it a looksy! I triple dog dare ya!

Those look like blogs that I would lose myself in.. that is a bad thing with this many children lol.
like I said on FB.. You deserve to be blessed! hugs
Yeah for renting your house. That is great! I couldn't get the pics to link back to the sites. And I NEED that farm table so maybe you could help a girl out...
the links don't work!! it just the fabulous headers!
but then again...maybe that's good thing!
we have been landlords now for 6 years. It has been good.. I think we have only been burned once. It was sad. But we quickly got it rented again.
You still going to keep it for sale? or are they going to buy it?
OK, so obviously I can't figure out how to add a link directly to the pictures! So, I wimped out and just put the links in. I'll figure it out laterz! But, all links are now working.
Liz, they are going to sit in the house for 6 months. and if all goes well they will consider doing a lease to own!
What? No Internet? What kind of backwoods...
I can't wait to check out those links especially since I just got into making stuff for the house instead of buying them.
I checked out your home in Missouri and it's gorgeous. We've always lived out here on the west coast, but there have been a few job openings on that side of the states.
I always thought it would be kind of nerve wracking to move out of the west coast, but reading your post helps me be prepared to move wherever RM gets a job is the place where we're meant to be.
Did I already mention that All Things Thrifty people live/lived by me? Brooke moved south of our town and Kallie stayed here. She's jsut down the street still in our ward. I've known for a long time that Brooke did this type of thing, but had no idea that Kallie did until the blog.
Oh my gosh, I always do that. I'll look at someones project and think that i can do it, but then I never do! I'm going to click on those links now! LOL
Yay on the rental! I am already addicted to some of those links. I'm seriously jealous of people that find awesome stuff for cheap or free and turn it into something amazing. I only seem to find crap.
Knock of Wood is my serious addiction at the moment! I am excited to check out these other links!
I like getting a deal or making stuff myself.
NO INTERNET?!?!? How will we survive without you? I don't know if I could go without it for an extended period of time! I do love your project ideas though - that would surely fill the time!
