When we first woke up our house was in shambles! We still had colored green milk,
and furniture topsy turvy and green in the camodes!
You seen our offering of gold was not accepted because frankly, we chose to eat it this year! OOPS, our bad!
However, this year in our new ward we were able to participate in the ward secret leprechaun project! It was a lot of fun! If you choose to sign up for the Secret Leprechaun your family is given another family and you must leave a trick or a treat at their door three times without being caught! The family who had us were VERY very good! We never caught them but I had it narrowed down to two families! They did a wonderful job and we had so much fun trying to catch them. Where our house is located is very hard to sneak up on us and they went to great lengths to accomplish their mission! I just have to say again, we loved it. Here is what they left for us the second night. A complete shamrock dinner.
The first night we had shamrock popcorn and a card game called blink.
The third night we were given shamrock rice krispies. So cute.
The family we had said they caught us not visually but had guessed us. I'm thinking it is near impossible but when asked how they brought it down to us. Each of the 3 people I asked their answers were contradictory to the other! LOL, I think someone told them but it just goes to show you can't trust anyone! (by nature that is my biggest fault.) My daughter is friendly but she says trust has to be earned. I am trusting full heartedly and then if something happens I pull back and learn. I haven't learned by this stage in life. So, I will always be a trusting fool at first. Life is better for me, living it that way.
Here is our fun fun day! We started off with rainbow waffles! The idea was stolen from here! Dash really loved these! We had so much fun we made rainbow cakes, cupcakes, pancakes and anything else we could color!
Here is Dash in his St. Patty's day outfit!
He is the only one I have a pic of.
Want to see what I did for my Secret Leprechaun family??
My first night we left this! Way cute right?? My printer ran out of ink. So, I had to use markers to create the tag. Long tedious work! Keep the ink in your computer full.
I absolutely love love this idea and it was just chocked full of goodness! Eighteen25 is one of my most favorite blogs! She has offered up the very creative ideas AND has shared the download and printables.
Please click here for the site info.
The second night was really cute also! I had to put it together at church. No picture! sorry but here is what I did!
I got a medium size cardboard box and put shamrock popcorn in it, bought the movie National Treasure and put a bag of "gold" hershey nuggets in it. "A family movie night" meaning FAMILY TIME is the National treasure and the true pot of gold! I thought it was WAY GENIOUS OF ME! ::pats self on back::
For our last and third treat. I was going to leave colored popsicle sticks all over their lawn but I heard that they aren't too much into the trickery of things. But, I don't know! We are still getting to know families in the ward and to serve this family was a TON of FUN!
So, I shamrocked their door! Left them reasons why we thought they were great. It looked cute and the front door looked like this on St. Patty's Day! (so, I wouldn't be caught I did this at 2am!)
I also bought a glass jar and filled it with goodies and left this cute tag on it. Because one of my favorite new found blogs has been this gal! Eighteen25! She offers the idea and the free download tag here! You too will book mark her! I would put money on it!, unless of course you don't like that type of amazing creativeness and cuteness and you would rather just be green with envy! LOL
and we sent them a rainbow in a bag! Which I found the amazing idea from here. Hers is sooo much cuter but I didn't want to spend the $5 measley dollars for the bags! But, next year I will definitely have them and will be able to make the great tags that she offered as a download! See, I couldn't print because our printer is BROKEN! anyway, I love IT IS WHAT IT IS!
Please know that all of those tags are available in printables and I DID NOT come up with those cute ideas! I found them in blogland and you can too! Please click on the great wonderful links and shares by awfully generous people out there! Because of them my children think I am the BOMB shiggitty of all!
