Our Porch Part 2

Mr. Incredible accomplished our front porch and I have to admit he did a great job! We have had many memories and stories to tell but the porch is standing and looks incredible. Here is our porch story part 1.

Everyone had to go out and prime the wood! What a fiasco. The younger two were very enthusiastic but their enthusiasm died just as soon as their painting began to feel like work. Dash he was out of there after the first 3 dips of his paint brush into the pan. This is what he chose to do instead!

Next up is Sweetheart! She hung in there longer than Dash but she quickly fled the scene as well! Thank you Sweetheart for the work you did do.

Warrior and Beauty endured painting the porch until the very end. It was a great way to spend a Saturday! They were a bit on the sloppy side but I can't be too picky when dealing with free help.

I must confess that I am a much better painter under controlled temps, like an air conditioner where the temperature ranges around 72 degrees. They can have all of that outdoor work. I'll paint the walls on the inside. Thank you!
It was only time before someone was going to loose concentration and get bored! What else do you do when you are bored and holding a paint brush?? You begin to play.

Beauty decided to turn her play adventures my way and she soon found out she was not prepared! She thought she would wrap her arms around my legs and paint them including my feet.

I could not move at all. She and Sweetheart had me pinned. So, I grabbed her hair and decided to use it as a paint brush! Did you know that human hair makes a wonderful paint brush?? It does!

When it was time to put the final coat of paint on Mr. Incredible purchased another power tool! ::swoons:: Ok, I'm back!
It was a paint sprayer! It definitely lays out a nice even coat! It looks great!
Just a minor word of caution: Do not use a paint sprayer outside on a windy day!
You will look like CASPER the ghost and you may have overspray on a few things! I'm just saying...

Glad you were able to get the troops to help. Warrior should get bonus points for tangling with the bushes to get his part done!

And the big question- once he whipped out the paint sprayer, did you actually let him FINISH the job this time? Wink!

It looks great!! We have a porch that runs the front of our house. We painted it, mostly, before it got cold. Only it was just my husband and I. I HATE poles!! When it warms up again we have to do the shutters. They are primed, but are still waiting their turn. It sure is a lot of work but so worth it.

It looks good...my husband was looking over my shoulder while I was reading your blog and he said, "Those wood posts suck to paint"

But you guys look like you had a good time with it!!! :)

I laughed at the paint sprayer spraying you like casper!
