St. Patricks Day 2010

I did manage to make shamrock pancakes and have mint green milk. We ate out for dinner.

This year was pretty much a flop! We had been in our home for about a week. Warrior arrived home from college and the next day was St. Patrick's Day! Please click here, St. Patrick's Day 2008 and please click here, St. Patrick's day 2009
Our house was in a shambles but that was my doing and not because of those pesky Leprechauns.

Everyone did dress in Green, except for Mr. Incredible. He thought he could pass because his hazel brown eyes sometimes appear green when he wears certain colors and then who is going to dare PINCH him?... Not me!

We were listed to fly out to Hawaii and arrive back to St. Louis on Monday. When the older two found out they would have to miss school on Monday, they did not want to go!! WHAT THE HECK??? You have got to be kidding me?! Warrior couldn't miss college and Beauty didn't want to miss a day at school. She is just getting into the swing of things and this may thwart previous efforts.
WHATEVER!! I cancelled all flights! Remind me again, why I work for the airlines? Remind me again, why I have such responsible children?

After being very disappointed we tried to salvage the day by going into the city and doing what tourists do. Here is our adventure on St. Patrick's day in St. Louis.
We did the boat tour and we also rode the pod to the top of the arch.

This very old power plant still generates most of the energy for Downtown St. Louis.
I love how the city continues to use very old buildings and not just tear them down and build something new. It's nice to be in a city where there is some history.

So, I didn't pay attention to the captain, but this boat has some significance and weighs some ginormous amount. I took the picture because I love the construction of it and I'm going to blow it up big and put in on my wall!

This is a picture of the bridge. Yeah, I'm going to have to go on the boat ride again because I was NOT listening.

I do know something about these next 3 pics! They liked the boat ride but wouldn't go on it again. I would only do it again, so I could take some better photos. But, we all went as a family and we all had a great time.

The boat ride was over and it was time to go to the top of the arch. WE are in the pod. It seats 5 but with Dash being smaller we could have squeezed him in. Mr. Incredible was afraid he would be claustrophobic so the boys road in one and the girls and I rode in another. They still had to load each pod to capacity. But, at least we were evenly split. At the top of the arch we could get out and take pictures.

AT THE TOP: 653 feet

If you look closely, the black squares are the windows at the top of the arch.

This is the view from one of the windows of the city!

This is the view from the other side, looking out towards Illinois. It's the Casino.

I love the feeling of this picture with Warrior off to the side!

A photo where I'm actually in it! Surprise, surprise!

St. Louis! I think we are going to like you. We sure had a lot of fun sight seeing and we are going to hit the BREWERY! I hear they give out free samples to those who are 21 and older! TOO bad, I'm not old enough to sample! Guess, I'll have to pass on the beverages.

Oh man, the arch is AWESOME! We took a trip to Kirtland and stopped to see the sights in St. Looey a few years back. Joe FREAKED at the little cars that bussed you up to the top. We just laughed at him.
Your kids are awesome! Not wanting to miss school? I love it!!
